We loved Pacific Grove.
We loved Pacific Grove. The downtown is charming, the two restaurants we ate in were very good, Toasties and the Monarch Pub and Restaurant. The rocky coast is gorgeous with walking trails along it that go for miles.
It was very easy to get around.

Awesome ocean views (especially at sunset!), great natural history museum, delicious seafood. Lovely, walkable town (love the info on the old houses saying when they were built, and who the original owner was.) Kayaking, snorkeling, bicycling, golf, butterfly viewing all easily accessible and enjoyable almost year round.
Car is recommended, although to be fair I've never tried the public transportation system.

I love all the different types of shops the downtown has to offer. There are also excellent restaurants & little spots for coffee or tea. I love that it's near the seaside & some forest areas to explore. Downtown Monterey is just a very few minutes away. It's all a very relaxing part of the world.

Pacific Grove is a beautiful coastal town with many things to do and see. Just enough of what is needed is nearby but not overdone like a gas station on every corner, etc. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is an amazing experience if you visit during the monarch migration season. Thousands of monarch butterflies to see. The beaches are stunning along the coastline and Monterey is just a stones throw away which offers more adventures. You really can't go wrong with this idyllic place.

One of our favorite places to visit.
One of our favorite places to visit. Pacific Grove has a real small town feel, but has wonderful restaurants (Red House Cafe, Bookworks Coffee) and the walking trail along the ocean is one of my favorite things to do. It is also close to other amazing places like Point Lobos, Big Sur and Pinnacles National Park. Try renting an E-bike and riding the stunning 17 Mile Drive from Pacific Grove to Carmel and back.

From our motel it was a short distance (walkable for young legs) to the ocean and the butterfly grove. There are great restaurants in Pacific Grove and nearby. Red House Cafe, Beach House (Lover's Point), Fishwife Restaurant are the ones we enjoyed. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Drive carefully, deer roam all around town night and day.
I loved our room! I loved the body wash, and shampoo conditioner dispenser. The room was so well equipped that we didn't need to call for room service. The bed was extra comfy and we had a wonderful view of the pool area. The staff was really friendly at both check in and check out. The hotels location is also a plus. A short walk to the beach, across the street from an awesome restaurant Lucy's! (Great ice cream and mermaid mimosa). The entire facility was well kept clean and a short drive from downtown Pacific Grove.
location great! accommodations great. best pet friendly place we’ve stayed. there’s actually a nice sized mini grass field for them. And I found a nearby recreation trail. The asilomar conference grounds allow dogs and the off leash portion of asilomar state beach is close walking distance. The cottages are super cute, very well equipped, thoughtfully designed. Would stay there again.
This was probably my 10th stay at the Rosedale. I was in the area on business. If you’re looking for solitude, look no further. The beds are comfortable, rooms are well taken care of. To put it in to perspective, I had a room at another hotel in Pacific Grove that my company paid for that was so bad I left and went to the Rosedale and paid for the room myself.
Great location just a short walk down to the state beach, on nice paths straight from the hotel.
We had a room with four beds, suited for the whole family.
Large pool in the hotel area, but some distance away.
Offers possibility for dining and breakfast within the hotel complex.
The area was quiet an relaxing.
Good parking facilities.
Had a great experience here! We stayed in the Tuttle house. I thought the location was good (ocean view!) and the check-in procedures were very convenient for someone with an unknown arrival time - very well communicated. Really liked learning the history of this place and seeing the old family photos.
Nice little hotel very near to the ocean and the sunset execept it is foggy. Small cabins with possibility to sit in the garden. And in the morning nice and simple breakfast/Self service. I love that place more than Monterey. When ever I come back to that region I will book it again.
we stayed in a family room which was a room with a king sized bed and another with a queen bed. had a small table and chairs and balcony as well. good breakfast though it’s the same and small. easy access to Pacific Grove, Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, etc. Quiet.
The bed was extremely comfortable. It was very close to Asilomar Conference center that provides a walkway to the beach - a 10 minute walk. It was very quiet which was surprising as this is a pet friendly hotel. The room was very clean. We would stay again.
Great location with free parking on the street/at the hotel. Very cosy feeling, room was inviting with a great view towards the bay. Breakfast room was great, too. Great variety of breakfast items. Great place to slow down and just enjoy being.
The location was excellent! Walking distance to Butterfly Grove, Los Pinos Lighthouse and Asilomar. We also walked into PG for breakfast and enjoyed the beautiful side streets. The room was very clean and staff very helpful.
No breakfast was available but the staff served excellent coffee at 8 am each morning. The location of the Butterfly Inn was conveniently located near the downtown of Pacific Grove so you could walk to restaurants and shops.
The Hotel is good. essential but good. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not served. Cleaning is ok. To make it even better I suggest adding one table or a desktop to work on the computer in the room and to serve breakfast.
The breakfasts were fantastic! The location was good...I was going to Asilomar daily, so it was only about 7 minutes. The staff was superb, kind, accommodating, and friendly. It was convenient to downtown Pacific Grove.
Nice quiet area in Pacific Grove. Easy parking either in the designated areas or on street. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean as could be in an old building.
Location in Pacific Grove, four blocks from the sea, six blocks from downtown. Quiet surroundings. Specified parking near unit. Comfortable bed and linens.
The hotel had plenty of parking, the breakfast room had a good selection. It's located a few minutes from the sea and there was a food bar across the street.
