The property is well maintained, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ensuring guests feel comfortable. It’s located right on the beach and while the beachfront itself isn’t swimmable, a short two-minute walk along the shore takes you to the stunning public beach at Mon Choisy, perfect for swimming. The property sits right between two of the island’s most beautiful beaches. Each morning, we enjoyed long beach walks - either 3 km along Mon Choisy and Pointe Aux Canonniers or 2 km along Trou aux Biches. Evenings were perfect for peaceful sunset strolls. The studio apartments are surrounded by lush greenery, and from your balcony, you can enjoy breakfast with serene views of the vibrant vegetation. In the evenings, when we were tired from walking, we relaxed at a poolside loungers enjoying spectacular sunsets. The rooms are spacious and come with a small kitchenette, equipped with everything you need if you prefer to cook. If you have a car, there is a parking lot on the property which gets filled quickly by early evening, but there is a nice public parking just 30 meters away where there is always space.

    We spent eight nights at the Coral Azur. I highly recommend the hotel. Below are the specifics. We arranged transportation to/from the airport with hotel. We had five adults. The total round trip cost per person was ~$40 USD. It was efficient and easy. The rides to/from the hotel were just under an hour. All communication with the hotel was efficient. We arrived at the hotel around 9:30 PM. The check-in staff allowed us to eat off the buffet (closed at 10 PM) for no charge. We did not ask to eat or say we were hungry. They just said “help yourself.” In all of our travels, this was a first! Check was relatively easy. Rooms are standard size with a balcony. I think all rooms are ocean view, which is a nice perk. Also, one can view the excellent sunsets from the balcony. Our room had a fridge, safe, good shower pressure with hot water, and toilets that flushed without problem. Pool area was nice with plenty of chairs. The hotel has nightly entertainment. Breakfast buffet was good with a large selection and included everything one would want for breakfast, including mimosas! Breakfast, and dinner if one chooses to eat at the hotel, is in an open-air restaurant. To minimize the impact of birds, the staff provide bread outside of the restaurant. It works reasonably well but not 100%. Be prepared for birds flying around during meals. There are plenty of taxis available outside the hotel. We negotiated service with one taxi driver for the week. They took our family to town for shopping, etc. We also used them for a ride to dinner every evening. The area has several nice restaurants but very few within walking distance. It was cost effective to eat out than eat at the hotel.     We had a fabulous stay at Zilwa! What a gorgeous resort! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, from the warm welcome we received at check in to the wait staff at each of the restaurants. Even the instructor for our morning aqua gym class was great - very enthusiastic! The food at each of the restaurants was excellent; we especially enjoyed the Thai restaurant, Manao, and had a delicious Indian meal at Tadka. We also had fun at the island for the BBQ lunch. The grounds are beautiful and our view from our ocean front room was stunning. We saw several lovely sunsets during our stay too. I celebrated my birthday while I was at Zilwa and the staff made my day very special by decorating our bed and offering dessert with my birthday dinner. The evening entertainment was terrific. I loved the dancers! Zilwa also has many fun activities and we were able to go out kayaking and snorkeling. Although I also wanted to go scuba diving I did not have the opportunity during this stay. I highly recommend Zilwa Attitude and hope to return to this beautiful resort one day.

    The staff was so wonderful and attentive, Warren was amazing as well as Vilie (I think I spelled it wrong). Sanjay the bell boy helped me look for my keys when I misplaced them as I was trying to check out. All the boathouse staff was wonderful and made sure we had fun. Kevin the manager was very patient when giving sailing lessons. Rudy was also wonderful and fun, the whole team (Rajef, Jeff, Adrian who drove the glass bottom boat, Rohan and Minicy. The whole team made sure we had a fantastic holiday. I will defiantly recommend this hotel to friends and family!

    Absolutely lovely, loved my time at Troux Aux Biches.

    Absolutely lovely, loved my time at Troux Aux Biches. The sand is soft compared to other beaches that I've been in Mauritius. The atmosphere was not crowded , which is good for me as I have society anxiety. Got breathtaking pics of the sunset xx can't wait to comeback xx !!!

    We both enjoyed the stay. The staff was polite, respectful. they couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and pleasurable. Deepak Goolaria and his kitchen team prepared an eggless cake for me to celebrate my birthday. Sandeep and Vikram, Sucheeta and Jason were always working and talking to us how was our stay going.

    Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

    There are 3-4 notable restaurants, up to 5 street food options. winner's has everything you need. The beach is very good, if it was crystal clear that would be dreamy. Sunday evening (confirmed from a local, it's happening every week) a bit loud, a bit different than others. Difficult to eat outside because of the high volume.

    VAlue for money.Limited facilities and size, butthen if you pay more you have Le Meridien next door. SO overall experience very good. Rooms feel cramped as they have no windows just sliding glass doors but well fitted out. BUt out of the room all else is good . Location is Very good. Palm trees in front then Beech, cant get better.

    An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie. Perfect for couples. There is a large public beach a few minutes walk away which has all the local facilities. Beach shacks selling local food and fresh fruit juices. The local people were all very friendly and the taxi rank nearby was ideal for planning trips.

    It’s a fishing village.

    It’s a fishing village. Beaches have lots of rocks but you can easily walk / drive to a fine Sandy one. For Sandy beach try Von Molke , Roche Noire public beach or Bras D’Eau . They are very calm and shallow water.
