The service staff from the door to the counter desk to be room service to the breakfast table are all impeccable and knowledgeable. Love the details inside of the hotel room. The room is spacious and with a very comfortable bed. But if you intend to add another bed, it might be quite challenging. It does come with a day bed near the window. Just request an extra pillow and blanket. This hotel is next to a big shopping mall with all the high-end shops.

Let’s start with the positives: The apartment itself was really lovely. Super clean, stylish, and well-equipped. It felt modern and comfortable and was definitely one of the nicer places I stayed in China in terms of design and interior. The location was ok, close to a shopping mall and not far from the metro, though the area itself wasn’t particularly exciting. Unfortunately, the communication before check-in was very strange. I was contacted in advance and repeatedly asked to prepay via WeChat or Alipay, which I strictly refused, since I don’t use Chinese apps for privacy reasons. I offered to pay by bank transfer or in cash, but they kept insisting and even threatened to cancel my booking if I didn’t comply. This was unnecessarily stressful. Sadly, this seems to be common in China – many places rely heavily on local payment apps, which is a big barrier for international travellers. Adding to that, no one at the property spoke English, not even basic words. Combined with the payment pressure and lack of communication channels, that made the whole process unnecessarily complicated. Also, the apartment was very hard to find, because the name listed on Booking.com doesn’t match the name on the actual building, which made check-in even more confusing. That said, once I was in, the apartment itself was fantastic and great value for the price. Overall: A beautiful and well-designed apartment that’s worth staying in – just be prepared for poor English communication, unusual payment demands, and a challenging check-in process.

Annie was an excellent host! Contacting her via wechat was easy and she was very hospitable. The accommodation was conveniently located less than a 5min walk to the train station. It was great that there were 2 toilets as well. Perhaps 1 suggestion would be to have fans in every room as some rooms didn't have fans and I would imagine it to be rather hot in the summer. Otherwise, a great place to stay in with lots of places to eat nearby!

The room was bright and airy (windows could be opened). The bathroom design was great (non-couples might find it a bit too intimate but there are sliding doors that you can use to partition it) and there was a ledge you could sit on while showering. Water pressure and temperature were excellent. This is also more of a city thing, rather than hotel thing, but it was the only place where we could flush toilet paper down, which was convenient. The places we stayed in at Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La didn't have as good a flush system and we were instructed to throw our toilet paper into a bin, instead. Although the corridors smelled faintly of smoke, we were glad that our room did not smell of smoke at all. The staff was really nice and even helped us to make a phone call to enquire with Jiuxiang Caves if we could store our luggage there, because we couldn't make calls with our overseas numbers. There was a nice selection for breakfast (from 6.30am to 10.30am if I remember correctly, which starts earlier than other places we stayed at), and a live cooking station too. There is a huge mall connected to the hotel, where you can get your milk tea/coffee fix.
