Great place to visit with plenty of locals and traffic to provide a buzz. The shops on the mall were plentiful and a good variety. Also plenty of eateries to give a good variety of food. We enjoyed Johnny Hu - a Chinese style restaurant with excellent food. Tried Ms Dumplings and Gyros Greek food was excellent. The street we stayed was narrow and hard to find parking, but the views were good. Its a fair distance from the main shopping centre, so you would need a car for transport. Sutherland looked lovely with the giant Christmas tree up at the Entertainment Centre and decorations on the streets. It's so easy to get around on foot everywhere, and a short ride from the train station into the city or Bondi. If you have a car, definitely take the short drive into Royal National Park and Wants Beach. But for me, just a lazy relaxing afternoon at Sutherland Motel pool was the best!Guest review bySharon - 10.0

I knew my purpose was to revisit a community where I grew up 60 years ago. I was not disappointed. I went for the beach location because I grew up on the same beachfront. The house was irrelevant regarding whether I liked it or not but it was clean and sufficient for my needs. It was not the Ritz but not the Pits either.
