Principe Island is paradise -- the beaches are pristine and just amazing. Casa Salamao is a gorgeous and delightful little spot with an amazing garden and wonderful view. Just sitting on the deck was refreshing. The kitchen is small, but adequate. You also have use of a refrigerator. The water in the shower was super hot, which was nice. Also, the wifi was quite good and relatively fast and reliable (when there was electricity). The host is quite responsive, too.

With sea views, Pousadinha Mar Ave Ilha is located in Principe and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden and terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge.

The staff. That is to say, the one and only staff member Bette. Our cook and clean and to badly communicate with :) We loved her and her tribe of kids. She even dispatched her eldest Ana to guide us down to the beach and back for the day. Quiet and peaceful, way off the beaten track. As with on Sao Tome, fantastic bird life!

It’s worth a longish walk out of town to this little corner of paradise, a river runs though the garden so you can birdwatch from your private balcony.I loved Anita, the housekeeper , genuinely caring and also proactive .The tiny house is very nicely designed and decorated and has great fittings: tv, air con ,mini kitchen, fridge! Feels luxe !
