I remember reading someone's blog saying you could skip Cordoba and I couldn't disagree more strongly! My friend and I were traveling through Southern Spain and booked Cordoba very last minute because we had 4 nights with no plans. I'm sooooo glad we did! We fell in love with Cordoba straight away. The beauty of the architecture, the maze of little lanes, the Mercado Victoria, the stunning Mezquita-catedral, the patios. There are so many things to do and see in Cordoba. We did a light and sound show at the Mezquita, watched a flamenco show with horses, bought stunning filigree jewelery made by the same jeweler who has provided pieces for the queen of Spain, ate delicious food, danced in bars and just had the BEST time. Cordoba, has something for everyone, don't skip it! 4 days was a great amount of time, but we could have easily spent a few more there.Guest review byKristelAustralia - 10.0

The old part of town is beautiful. Flower pots everywhere. And the parapet of the town has great views of the surrounding countryside. The town center is compact and easy to get around(there are some hilly parts).Guest review byKevinUnited States - 8.0

Lucena is a lovely town - some very good restaurants in the Plaza Nueva and the indoor market has plenty of fresh fruit and veg stalls, fresh fish and a few good butchers as well. Easy to visit other towns from Lucena - Cabra, Priego de Cordoba and Iznájar - including the lake.Guest review bySarah StreeterSpain - 10.0

Fantastic walks all around the village of Iznajar. the lake was beautiful even though it was only 27% full.. The town itself was unspoilt and the Visit to the castle was worth to see. 2 euros for most of us and 1 euros for pensioners..Guest review byJacquelineSpain - 10.0

Cabra is a beautiful town, nestled in the Subeticas mountains in Southern Spain. If you like hiking and walking then you will love this place, if you like good Spanish food and a lot of good wine, you will love this place. If you are lucky enough to be with a group of good friends, you will love this place. Relaxed, warm. pretty and practical. A home for the Spaniards and a place for holiday makers to relax. Favouite places, Plaza de Espana and Plaza de Viejo. I enjoyed meals in Meson restaurante St. Martin, Entre Tapas and Rincon Gallego.Guest review byLindaIreland - 8.0
It is a nice small village in an agricultural hub.
It is a nice small village in an agricultural hub. It's main attraction - besides the "dehesa" grassland - is the Feria market and fair in the end of April. Everybody is kind and helpful. However, it is so remote from other villages that without a car you might feel trapped.Guest review byVeronHungary - 10.0
Córdoba is a gem.
Córdoba is a gem. All the streets curve so there is always some shade to walk in. The architecture is varied and beautiful. A block off of the main streets were wonderful restaurants. Flamenco at Tablo El Cardenal was wonderful. Lunch at Taberna Rafaé was excellent. Coffee and cake on the Plaza Canónigo Torres Molina was great. Capitone Tapas Bar was excellent. Planning to visit again. Mezquita is the remarkable. I thought that it was more impressive than the Alhambra in Grenada, although both are true wonders-of-the-world.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0

This is a very pretty town, perched up a hill with lovely views around the olive plantations which surround this area. It has a relaxing atmosphere, plenty to see. You can visit the various museums and castle for a 'bono turistico' card costing €5. Don't miss the castle. Priego de Cordoba is a good base for walking in the hills around this area.Guest review byJoanneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lucena is a wonderful Spanish town.
Lucena is a wonderful Spanish town. You get the real Spanish experience. I'd recommend knowing a bit of Spanish as most people don't speak English. It's a real Spanish town. The drinks are cheap and they come with tapa. It's not like Malaga which is an awesome place but for tourists, that are will to pay for the Spanish experience. In Lucena you get the real Spanish experience. The people are crazy friendly and charming. It's easy to get around, everything is in walking distance. If you want to visit other towns you'd have to rent a car or get a bus, but there is a bus station with regular services to the big cities like Malaga, Grananda, Cordoba, Sevilla etc. There's also blabla car which is a good option to see other places. There are always people passing through Lucena. It's probably not the best place to stay for a long holiday but for a few nights, there is plenty to see and do. There are certain times of year where they have lots going on, parades down the street like in Christmas and Easter. Then in September they have a great feria which is worth experiencing.Guest review byTParkinsonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is very pretty with surrounding mountains and olive groves and wonderful views of the lake. There are some lovely bars and restaurants and the castle is fantastic to visit and only 2 euros! The only possible downside is that the steep hills may be difficult for people with limited mobility.Guest review byLindaSpain
