Self-Catering Accommodations in Lager Walchen

This is the perfect Alps retreat. It is situated near the mountain top and the view is astounding. Sunsets are the best, also the night is very nice as you see all the valley lights. The hous has more apartments and rooms each with a balcony or terrace and nice sitting arrangements. The inside is classical Austrian interior wit comfy matttreses and clean new sheets. Also the owner is very nice and responsive, our fridge broke and he replaced it in 3 hours, keep in mind tha we were on a montain top and it is 20min till the first village. Last but not least the sauna and the cold water barrel outside - very nice, especially after walking 30 000 paces a day and comming home to 16 C, really relaxing and the view caps it all. 11 out of 10!!

Very beautiful location, off the beaten path and very quiet.

When we booked this, I knew this would be my husband's favorite place in our month in Europe - turned out, it was the favorite for both of us!! Beautifully rustic, and the view is even better than the photos!! The owner met us down at the car and helped carry our (So sorry: ridiculous amount of) stuff up to the Hutte. Through a cow field. With cows in it. Small cows, not many, maybe 5. Then the owner pulled up a chair on the porch and we had a nice visit. I'm glad I asked him who Walter was. I won't spoil it for you here. We did not leave even once after we got there. The view was beautiful beyond description - the Hutte was spotless, cozy, rustic but nicely appointed (other than no cork screw!!). Lots of fuzzy warm blankets, a nice little fire pit outside, cow bells clanging softly in the background, a ski run just above us, completely private - so green and wonderful!! (Tip: If you have a car, pack only what clothes you really need for those days. Bring mostly groceries, coffee and wine. Also - the road up the property is a bit of a nail biter, but it is nicely paved, safe and beautiful!! There is a bit of a hike from the parking area to the Hutte, so wear smart shoes like I didn't.)

Super comfortable apartment, very friendly hosts, quiet and green environment

Tranquility of the location. The apartment is quite spacious (except for the bathroom). It is clean and functional. The garden is nice, especially if you have a dog (note: there is no fence, so need to a keep an eye on the dog all the time).

Perfect spot for skiing, ski in / ski out access. House has necessary amenities (dishwasher, ski shoes heater, ski room) Great locations uphill of the town, with nice views and calm surroundings

Perfect ski location. Friendly host but weak English.

The apartment was great! The facilities were comfortable (kitchen well equipped, big living room with electric shutters, big shower with good stream). The view is perfect and there’s Lama herd outside the yard. The location is great just 7 minutes from the closest city.

The apartment is very big and comfortable. Lots of windows and balconies to enjoy the scenery. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the dishes that we needed. Bathroom was spacious and the washing machine was such a blessing to have ensuite. So few places in Austria have a washing machine. Gondola walking distance away. Beautiful hiking trails.

Apartment is of the highest standard of design and quality. Highly reccomended to anyone. It will suit the most demanding families. The beds have the best quality mattress (silent!) and clean new linen, rooms are decorated in perfect alpine style. Equipment is new, the Ineternet is fast and has good coverage in all rooms for several users at once. The house is sparkling clean thanks to the caring owners. Bathroom equals the most expensive city hotels, with heated floor, drying rack etc. Each room has a large radiator, perfect for placing ski clothing. Overall, there is nothing we could imagine that was not there already, well taken care of.
