Great hotel near the Yamagata Station, about 5 minutes walk. The room was quite spacious and clean. It was easy to comunicate with the staff as they spoke perfect English. For breakfast we had to choose Western style set or Japanese style. We liked everything about our stay. Highly recommend!

Set in Yamagata and with Zao Onsen Ski Resort reachable within 600 metres, オーベルジュ樹氷 offers a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. The owner was very friendly and told us where to go for lunch and dinner and the food there was fabulous as well! The drink at the bar was very tasty as well. Moreover, the owner offered Nintendo Switch with various games. The best thing the owner gave me was two cans of Dr. Pepper for my birthday present. That was a good treat from him!

Ski in/ski out, amazing breakfast each morning, very friendly staff. The drying room was very well set up and the shared bathroom clean. Lots of food options nearby.

The breakfast and dinner is traditional Japanese and is excellent and value for money. The dinner was especially sumptuous and was more than expected. It had a small onsen and for the more adventurous you can also use on of the 3 public onsen that was only steps away from the front door. It's exceptionally close to the ski lift - easily walkable even with gear.

Matsupokkuri er staðsett í Zao Onsen á Yamagata-svæðinu, skammt frá Zao Onsen-skíðasvæðinu, og býður upp á gistirými með ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. The hotel is staying in beginning of village, opposite of bus stop. Very convenient to go to ski station by walking (from 7-10 minutes depend on which station you want to go for ski). There are restaurants just next to hotel. Public onsen is 2 minute walk but they have their own small onsen inside hotel. Host is super kind. For restaurant, recommend to book in advance. Food is delicious in this village but price is higher than all other ski resort that we had been such as Nozawa onsen. Renting equipment for ski is super easy. There are shops in all stations with different price. Cheaper to go to station 1 with big Ski center.

Forest Inn Sangoro er staðsett í 3,1 km fjarlægð frá Zao Onsen-skíðadvalarstaðnum og býður upp á gistirými, veitingastað, garð, sameiginlega setustofu og verönd. Amazing free breakfast! Awesome dinner choices! Friendly staff and helpful! Quick pick up with nice car type snowmobiles from tram! Amazing scenery! Beautiful old hotel! Can get to snow lift easy so close.

Miyamaso Takamiya er staðsett í innan við 10 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Zao Sky-kláfferjunni og býður upp á 9 náttúrulegar hveraböð sem gestir geta notið. Excellent all around. Amazing food and kind staff who were very attentive and accomodating. Hertiage buikding was an amazing serene setting for a holiday.

Pension Puutaro er staðsett í aðeins 1 mínútu göngufjarlægð frá Zao Onsen-skíðasvæðinu og býður upp á herbergi í japönskum stíl, franskan kvöldverð og ókeypis Wi-Fi Internet. location is very good, right outside the ropeway and chairlifts. ladyboss is super friendly and helpful. i wasnt well and skipped breakfast, she hand grated apples and gave me an energy drink to help my indigestion! I'm really grateful for her help and concern. she also gave us ticket to the public onsen. 😍 thank you so much, we had a wonderful time.

Guesthouse Mintaro Hut býður upp á einföld herbergi, ókeypis afnot af eldhúsi og ókeypis Wi-Fi Internet hvarvetna á gististaðnum. Ókeypis þvottaaðstaða er í boði. Incredible staff, the hosts are so kind and make you feel at home, there’s a group dinner you can join every night and it’s always amazing food. Great location in between Kita-Yamagata and Yamagata station. I will definitely return, I really loved staying here

Zao Kokusai Hotel er í aðeins 1 mínútu göngufjarlægð frá Zao Onsen-skíðasvæðinu og býður upp á rúmgóð hveraböð bæði inni og úti og herbergi í japönskum stíl. Loved it from the get go. Beautiful scenery, handy location for the ropeway, nice traditional rooms, very kind staff, tasty buffet style breakfast, lovely onsen.
