Offering sea views, Ise-Shima Ohtaya Healing Stay is an accommodation situated in Toba, 29 km from Ise Grand Shrine and 29 km from Oharai-machi. I really like this place. The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

Featuring public baths with views of Ise Bay and a Japanese restaurant, Oishiya is a 5-minute drive from JR Futaminoura Train Station. The traditional rooms have an attached bathroom. We LOVED the personalised service provided in traditional inns - especially by our caretaker and waitron Yasuyo Ohnishi! There can be no better location on the seashore within reach of Ise Temple Complex, located on Futiminoura Beach. They will pick you up and drop you off at the closest station and a  100m walk to the beautiful "wedded rocks (at Futamiokitama Shinto Shrine) is worth it even on a hot day! It was pouring  rain when we arrived early so the driver dropped us off a beautifully restored old traditional mansion set in a tranquil zen garden to wait for reception to open at 3pm. We only realised later it's only 3 houses away from the hotel so easily accessible bonus for Oishiya's guests ! The meals (dinner and breakfast was included) was exceptional and extensive with more than 5 courses, each one beautifully arranged in trays and in stunning pottery, served by the lovely and ever helpful  Yashyu Ohnishi in her immaculate kimono Dinner was attended in the Inn's provided kimono's which really added to the experience of Japanese culture we were looking for in a traditional Inn or Ryokan like this. The private Onsen (hot spring bath) was a great bonus for two shy westerners as was the slightly raised western beds in our beautiful tatami mat room with a view to the ocean and shoji screens (rather than curtains) to manage the light! It was by far the most pleasant and perfect stay in more than 30 years of travel internationally!

Comfort Hotel Ise is set in Ise, 5.9 km from Ise Grand Shrine and 3.6 km from Oharai-machi. The hotel is just a short walk from the railway station, the staff are very helpful and friendly. It has great accessibility to sightseeing attractions, using the train,buses, or walking. The room I had was fairly spacious and comfortable.

Located in Toba, 19 km from Ise Grand Shrine, Wisterian Life Club Toba provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The view from room was stunning. Front desk gentlman helped us make reservation at restaurants - great dinners .

Located in Shima in the Mie Region, 5 km from Shima Spain Village, Fiore Shima boasts a seasonal outdoor pool, barbecue and terrace. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable with great amenities. We took our dog and there were bowls and bedding provided. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome. The pool area is great with lots of seating and is open from 8am-8pm so you can enjoy morning and evening swims. We have stayed twice now and I would definitely recommend it.

Conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Iseshi Train Station, Hinode Ryokan is Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. Ise-jingu Shrine’s Geku (outer shrine) is a 5-minute walk... The staff were so lovely and helpful and the rooms were beautiful. We also really enjoyed the bath.

Located in Toba, 18 km from Ise Grand Shrine, Bali Resort SAYA no Kaze provides accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a restaurant. All inclusive and able to wear supplied lounge wear to restaurant and throughout facility. We felt like we were having a true japanese holiday as the locals do.....they also supplied warm coats for walks outside. Fabulous views over the sea. Google translate helped with communication.

Located in Toba and only 28 km from Ise Grand Shrine, Shinpachiya provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The hotel service was amazing. The manager was particularly good to us. Very kind man. We had a relaxing and wonderful stay. I really recommend this hotel it has a beautiful ocean view and delicious breakfast.
