Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, Canada, is a true city. Although it often serves as a stopover between visits to nearby Jasper National Park, Edmonton's monumental shopping mall, top-notch arts and culture scene and rapid transit system offer more than enough reasons to stay awhile.
The temperature is so often cold in Edmonton that when summer hits, the city goes all out in celebration. Whyte Avenue, a trendy strip in the historic Old Strathcona district, buzzes as shoppers pop in and out of its independent boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and cafés. A wave of festivals also hit the streets. The Fringe Theatre Festival in August lures crowds from all over the world. Not to be outdone, the West Edmonton Mall entertains year-round with more than 800 stores and attractions including a water park, ice rink and mini-golf course.
Located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, Edmonton manages to merge its urban metropolis with surrounding nature. Roaming bison have been spotted in town, while a multitude of parks protect land from further development. In Fort Edmonton Park, you can experience local heritage at the reconstructed fur trading post or during a ride on a steam train. Of course, you'd be remiss to visit Edmonton and not spend at least a day exploring Jasper National Park. A four-hour's drive will deliver you to its vast landscapes shaped by glaciers, lakes and mountains home to moose, elk, bears and bighorn sheep.

Lots of shops and things to do, great places to eat with an amazing variety, like Philty Phillys sandwich spot, Northern Chicken, Smash Burger, Jolly Bee's Chicken and much more. CON'S: Traffic sucks and the road construction is ridiculous with much of it having poor set up for traffic control and detour abilities.

The hotel was exceptionally clean. The location was quiet and convenient The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful. We chatted with both the front desk staff and the cleaning staff, all of whom were very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely stay there again in the future. This Hotel's management should be proud of their crew and their dedication to the hospitality industry. I have spent alot of time traveling throughout the years, and I must say that this location obviously takes pride in their facility. GOOD JOB!
Absultely lovely.

Absultely lovely. Except for the blinking light over our heads. Aggravating! On and off about ever 15 seconds. We were both back sleepers. So that made it worse. I think it might have been a low battery cause it wasn’t too bad the first night but got worse on second and ridiculous on the third night!

Excellent hotel , great staff , specially front desk staff great people. Breakfast 🍳 has to be improved. You have to ASK for a MICROWAVE if you want it the room, so please keep this in mind when booking or before you check in.

Edmonton is a very large spaced out city. You will require time to drive to locations due to the size and traffic. However the roading network is fantastic to access around the city. Recommendations to go would be West Edmonton Mall for fun with children, Rogers Arena and Ice district to experience an Oilers hockey experience. Take in the festivals during the Summer (lots to choose from), and walk the extensive river trails for a much different and pleasant view of the city.
Roads are easy to travel on to get places.

Roads are easy to travel on to get places. Fort Edmonton always a great place to see and experience. I was hoping for a touring exhibition at the Provincial Museum for the summer, but there was none. A big spacious beautiful new building but lacked content I was waiting a long time to experience . They could put 10 times the amount stuff in there.
