Beautiful setting in the Normand countryside close to the sea and D Day landing sites. It offers easy access to Bayeux. The chateaux built in late 16th century was restored and offers a combination of old charm and modern facilities. The beautiful stone walls surrounding the property offers silence and a sense of peace. The presence of horses on site complètement this rustic setting. The appliances were modern and efficient.
Lerosier is so kind and thoughtful. She greeted and showed us around the lovely house. The property is well equipped with everything you need for your stay. It’s impeccably clean.
The location is beautiful on rural farmland only 10 min from Omaha beach. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable.
This place is an absolute masterpiece! It’s been fully renovated with style and comfort, yet it still keeps the soul and charm of the old mansion. From the very first step into the yard, you know you’ve arrived somewhere special. Every detail feels carefully thought-out - from the welcoming scents at the entrance to the elegant wine decanters waiting for you. The kitchen itself is huge, perfectly equipped, and stocked with enough dishes, glasses, and cutlery to host a dinner worthy of royalty, all made effortless by top-class modern appliances. The main room is the heart of the house - bright, spacious, and beautifully furnished. Large windows fill it with natural light, high ceilings add an airy feel, and it is perfect for both lively gatherings and quiet evenings. Comfortable sofas, a generous dining area, and tasteful décor create a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The private backyard is pure magic — lush grass, centuries-old trees, and a barbecue ready for long, cozy evenings outdoors. If you’re planning a trip to Normandy, make this your main base. Once you step inside, you won’t want to leave.
The location was amazing! Walking distance to everything we needed. The patio by the river was the perfect place for coffee or wine. So serene.
Location was very close to town, very clean, and well supplied. Nice outdoor area with table and chairs.
Plenty of room for our family’.
The house and yard were perfect. We could not have asked for more. The family and I loved staying here and felt this was the only place we were able to truly relax during our trip. We only wished we had longer here, and we hope to stay again in the future. The owner, Anne Marie, came out to greet us. She was incredibly friendly and nice, and we enjoyed meeting her despite our language differences. Merci beaucoup, Anne Marie!
We loved everything about the house and it's location. It was centrally located to all WW11 museums and monuments. Martine and Michel were gracious hosts who greeted us at the house and reviewed all aspects of the house and area. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well stocked with anything that you would need for making a meal or snack. The back patio was also very nice to relax and listen to all the birds chirping in the area. The bedrooms were roomy and the beds were very comfortable. We can't say enough good things about our stay as it met every need we had. We would definitely stay there again and also recommend to all our friends and anyone contemplating staying in the Bayeux area.
Excellent location and amenities.
Very quiet and tranquil setting. The hosts were attentive and friendly. All equipment was very good and plentiful.
We loved the many many windows that opened up to fresh country air. We loved being in the country, but so close to everything we wanted to visit . This is probably the best place we have booked anywhere. Loved it!! It helped that I could speak a bit of French. Maryline’s English was fairly limited, but she was still able to communicate the necessities. This is not a negative. After all this is France, and you don’t expect people to know English. Thank you, Maryline, for telling us about the Saturday market in Bayeux. C’était formidable! The list of facilities includes a spa, but that was not available to us. I’m not putting that on the ‘don’t like’ list because that was not why we were there. Don’t be daunted by the steps to the bedroom. I am weeks away from hip surgery, but I was OK with going up and down the stairs, one step at a time. The railing is secure enough I was comfortable using it for support. Likewise with the steps up to the deck and entrance. Finally, we appreciate the privacy afforded us by our wonderful hosts. If we ever returned to Normandy, we would love to visit Gite PLages du Débarquement again.
Great space, with beautiful view. Very comfortable and close to Bayuex. We were there with 6 people. I highly recommend this house
This beautiful farmhouse was the perfect place for our family of 5 to explore Normandy and provided us with plenty of space to relax. The setting is peaceful and secluded, but only 10 minutes away from Bayeux. Rebecca is lovely and met us to give us the keys, explain features of the property, and gifted us a delicious bottle of cider. The house is gorgeous, spacious, well-stocked, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed exploring WWII sites, Bayeux, and Mont St. Michel during the day and relaxing with dinner and family bonding time at home in the evenings. We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesistate to book this property again!
