Helen and Damian were incredibly helpful and generous. We were on foot and Helen kindly picked us up from the train station and saved us a half hour walk up the hill with our luggage. The location was perfect for visiting Vindolanda (only 15 minutes walk on a stunning path and track) and catching the AD122 Bus to different parts of Hadrian’s Wall.

Good range on the food menu (Thai curries and traditional meals - fish, pies & chips etc.). Excellent cooked breakfast. Village is off the main road so the road outside is quiet. There was plenty of kerb space to park on the road - and there are a couple of parking places over the road (2 reserved for EV's). Convenient bus stop outside for travel to Hexham or Carkisle in the other direction.
