All the staff I encountered were friendly and professional. The room was comfortable. I was even able to turn off the fan, which is not an option at some hotels! The price was reasonable.

This hotel's staff were audaciously asking for 20% tips at breakfast. When we carried no cash, we were even ask to charge it to our room service bills. We are a senior couple travelling from U.S. and this was our first and last time to Hilton Garden Inn at Markham (Highway 7 and Highway 404). Very bad experience.

We were there for a funeral near by, so not really there to sightsee. There were some interesting shops nearby, though, and subway very close by so I would stay in future if we had other things planned in Toronto

However, I was not prepared that the hotel only occupies the upper floors starting at floor 12. Thus when I arrived for the first time I had no idea where to go. Further, while free parking exists as advertised, you must first check in to obtain a pass, while leaving you car unattended in front of the hi-rise building. King size is huge. It fits Me, my 2 toddlers, and my husband. The other room is for my 2 girls. I would recommend this for a big family that visit Toronto. Also, the place is not crowded. Parking is safe. It's just 20 mins away from city proper.
