The hotel was nice- the room was good, and they had a tub, which was great after a long day on the Camino. I did not eat at the restaurant- but breakfast was adequate

Lovely warm, clean and spacious room. Bernard the host, was most accommodating and looked after me very well considering I speak no Spanish. Met some good people and very much enjoyed my visit. I hope to return one day.. Recommended

This was the perfect place for us to stay after a long day of travel, ending with a late evening train arrival in Ponferrada from Madrid. It was within easy walking distance from the train station (even with backpacks and wheelie luggage). A completely charming hotel with fabulous staff and clean, comfortable rooms. It was also within easy walking distance to shop at the Decathlon store for last minute Camino needs (hiking poles, rain gear, etc.). Beautiful, well-maintained property!

I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.
I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino.
This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL.
Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

Wonderful Temple knights history, well described during castle visit. Impressive past and great attraction on Camino de Santiago for the thousands of Pilgrims now walking or cycling. An important part of old Spanish history.

We loved staying in the middle of the Old Town with the Castle just 5 minutes' walk away. People were friendly and there are lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The drives into the nearby towns and mountains were fabulous. Perfect weather this time of year and not too many tourists. A great place to stop for the many Pilgrims on the Camino trail.
There was absolutely nothing to like about this hotel. A cross between The Shining and a horror movie. No food on site, except a vending machine. No place to find a meal. Staff didn’t even try to help with that. We checked in, paid. Then the staff disappeared and we were unable to contact anyone for help. The place was deserted. We called a taxi and found better accommodation elsewhere.
Location is excellent, the hotel is in an old part of the city and is a contemporary hotel keeping within the tradition and history of the location, modern facilities and really helpful staff. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food, but especially for an overnight stay, we couldn't have made a better choice
Although the "medieval knights" theme was a bit over the top, the hotel provided everything we needed in the way of clean and comfortable beds for the night. Location near the railway station was good (we had an early train to catch in the morning), and it was an easy walk to the historic centre of Ponferrada.
Everything was perfect , and congratulations to the owner, more than accomodating,
very flexible hours, early breakfasts and very good
also provided very useful hoistoric and local information that made the trip to Ponferrada the best with out doubt
This places seemed like a hotel being used as an albergue. But we were very happy to check in because our day of walking from Foncebadon had been very long and very, very hot. This albergue is AIR CONDITIONED. It was great.
I had a small quiet clean room with a private bath where I was able to get a good night's sleep. The hotel had a bar/cafeteria and was close to other nice cafes and the Templar Castle.
