We loved the location, room, building and restaurant. The chef is so good at creating beautiful and very tasty dishes with local ingredients. I will be back again when we visit that part of France again.
Located on Saint-James’ Way and set in an old property, Le Compostelle offers a terrace and rooms with attached bathroom with a flat-screen, satellite TV.
The breakfast is simple but good, complete with 3 different types of warm bread, warm mill, nice coffee, a bit of fruit, and jams. The one I like best is yogurt. Looks like it is homemade yogurt. The location has a beautiful view of the landscape and the Basilique on the top of the mountain, most specially when in the restaurant of the hotel. The hotel looks like it had it's great moments before but not this time. There is enough space for parking.
The rooms are big, fresh despite the very hot weather and there is a big parking place, reserved to the hotel. The reception is in the bar on the other side of the road.
The size of the room, the size of the beds, view from the room and balcony, looking across the valley of the river Cure in the direction of Saint-Père and Vézelay.
