I was simply horrified, Its a dirty hovel.

I was simply horrified, Its a dirty hovel. The location might work for some, but is a bit out of the way if you are travelling North bound. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good, but having seen how grubby the bedrooms are it makes one wonder what state the kitchen and other none public areas are in. In future I would stick with the budget chain hotels as apposed to risking an uncomfortable night again in a grubby place like this. Come on guys, a lick of paint, a clean bathroom, clean carpets and fresh bed linen is 'basic'. A very disappointing experience indeed.

There are friendly comms from the hotel after booking which clearly tells you what you need to know. It was a friendly check in and where some maintenance was taking place they made sure to communicate. The old building and the surroundings had charm and the local walks were brilliant even in the rain! The addition of the Nespresso machine was nice. The heating was excellent and the view out was nice. For the price it was great.

Booked this hotel to attend surgery at the Orthopaedic hospital instead of having to travel from from home address at 5.30. So handy situated in a country park with some beautiful walks and also handy for golfers having a small golf course available. Together with a cafe with a good menu

Nice location, good grounds for children. We booked a family room and it was spacious although the shower room was very small. Hotel generally clean and well presented.
