In 150 acres of gardens, park and woodland, PowderMills is a Grade II listed 18th-century country house hotel with an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi, near the historical town of Battle. Built in the 18th century as a Gunpowder Owner’s Residence, the property has seen many changes in its history, notable when it was restored and converted into the privately owned, charming Hotel it is today. The outside is enhanced by ancient wisteria and there are remains in the grounds of artifacts used for the manufacture of the gunpowder reputed to be the finest in Europe.

Carly was more than happy to guide us to the cabin when we arrived. The cabin itself was the perfect location for a short getaway in the countryside and the bed was incredibly comfortable! We loved meeting Rosie the pig and listening to Chalky the donkey chattering away. We would recommend this location to anyone and would love to stay here again in the future

Almost all guests that stayed at the hotel left on Sunday morning and it was very quiet and peaceful. To make sure we start the day the right way, a cute black cat came to greet us.

The cabine has everything we needed and was absolutely clean and well looked after. The bed was very comfortable, spacious and warm. This is a perfect place for a couple. The beds are superbly comfortable; We slept in the front bedroom and were awake to the sunshine. Very well equipped in its minimalistic approach. I would highly recommend this holiday cottage.
