We could have stayed in Heidenheim a *little* (not "much") longer, to see the Roman museum, for example. The reason for the visit was a performance of Tannhäuser at the summer Opernfestpiele. It was very high quality, even though moved at short notice (actually, without any on-site notice at all) from the picturesque outdoor ruined-castle setting to a nearby conference centre. Despite the extremely warm weather the room stayed relatively cool. The air in the room was fresh and there were no triggering odors (suitable for persons who get migraine easily). Good parking and was easy to come and go with own car. Also it takes about 30 minutes to walk to the center so you might not even need to use the car. Food in the restaurant was really good. Staff speaks English. I can warmly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay there again in the future.
