Room was in the perfect size with toilet. The kitchen was well equipped, alko and oranges including. The bathroom was common but clean and comfortable. What’s more - the neighbourhood was scenic.

The design is absolutely gorgeous! A lot of wood, feels very cozy. Though the whole place is not big, it has pretty much everything, even a small stove to cook. The location is directly opposite of Kii-Katsuura Station, you can even check the departure monitor from the bedroom window. Also the community in the hostel was great: when we were there university students temporarily worked on their business ideas there, introducing us to wood carving, painting and their self-made muesli bars. Talking to them was very fun and made possible forming connections to Japanese people, which can be usually hard for foreign tourists.

We arrived at the location fairly late, but it was not a problem. Our room was spacious and the common area was great for resting and chatting with other guests. I think the place is both in a great spot and good value for your money.

Located in Minabe, within 11 km of Kozan-ji Temple and 13 km of Tokei Shrine, みなべゲストハウス provides accommodation with free bikes and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The guesthouses is located in a quiet area of Minabe amidst plum orchards. It is a renovated traditional house of a plum farmer, smells wonderfully of wood and is very peaceful. I had the best stay imaginable here, thanks to the friendly owner, the incredible house and the kind locals living in Minabe.

Yes, there are minimal amenities, but it has a really cozy feeling to it. My room was quite spacious and very affordable. The staff is very kind and helpful, the manager recommended the best onsen to me, and knew which hot springs were tattoo friendly. He spoke English very well. It is a great location too, only a few minutes walk to the beach, and very close to the convenience store. I'm really happy I stayed here :)
