Location! Unfortunately, my early departure (6:15am) prevented me from enjoying the breakfast. The restaurant looked nice though. Quiet room. I liked how the room had a small area as you enter where you could sit, remove and keep your shoes. And since there are two doors from there that you can shut for the bathroom and the bedroom, it means that you have two doors between your bed and the hallway. Which means you are much less likely to hear people in the hallway. Smart idea!

Two full days is plenty of time to explore Berat.
Two full days is plenty of time to explore Berat. The castle is worth a visit maybe a taxi up and walk down as its very steep. The two bridges are nice to walk over and the view at night is wonderful. A nice reasonable restaurant is Friendly House the restaurant is upstairs and looks out over the river.

Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list. It will be great to hire a tour guide for the explanation and exploration around the old castle area.
Based on the local suggestion, every year, there is an event called epiphany on Jan 6. It will be super good if you can witness this wonderful event.

Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. Very quiet in March but traffic already tough so wouldn’t want to be there in summer.
Only playground in the village was extremely dirty and many things were broken.

Beautiful view of the mountains, interesting castle, nice walks available. Very affordable. We ate at Pizza Visi and it was fresh and tasty (and very informal). We also took a great walking tour with Lazzaro.

Hotel Berati is incredible value for money, located very close to everything worth seeing in Berat. The interior is gorgeous with a traditional design and the rooms have that rustic traditional vibe while also being spotless. The rooms are spacious, and I had a large private balcony looking out toward the mosque and orthodox church. Breakfast was basic but varied with enough fuel to do a lot of walking around the city. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful whenever I had questions; her level of English was high.
I'm pretty sure this is the best place to stay in Albania. The hosts are a small family, who are all incredibly kind and positive people. The food at the restaurant was the best and (crazy enough) cheapest we had in Albania. The breakfast was also great with fruit, yoghurt, eggs, pastries, jams and very good coffee. The hotel is located inside Berat castle, which makes for an unreal location. My wife was sick and the host took such good care of us. Thanks again for such a nice stay!
Beautiful location within walking distance of every important sight in Berat. The host showed us true Albanian hospitality and made us feel like we were visiting family. The host was extremely passionate about his hotel and the guest experience, willing to help with any questions we had. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berat, if we ever come back to Albania we would book this hotel again without a doubt. We will never forget the amazing time we had here during our stay!

The hotel was very beautiful and recently renovated. The room was big and spacious and with views to the garden and a part of old town of Berat. Very good location, next to all the highlights of the city.
The breakfast was included, was abundant and delicious.
Staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Parking is also included and we were allowed to leave the car in the parking for the rest of the day after check out, until the afternoon that we left Berat.
The staff was super friendly and they provided all the necessary info on where to go and what to do - speaking excellent English by the way. They took care of everything that needed booking. The room it was stupendous. Excellent matress and large, comfy and nicely decorated room. If we ever get back to Berat we would stay at the same hotel. It looks exactly like the pictures or even better. And on top of all that hotel is located exactly near Gorica bridge
Hotel is in one of Berat's "historic" homes. From outside, it has that stunning historic look. Inside, hotel is completely renovated. Rooms have new floor, paint, ceiling, windows... new and clean. You get the complete immersive experience. The breakfast is amazing. We stayed at a few other more luxurious and expensive hotels in Albania for the rest of our trip, but the breakfast in Ansel beats all of them. The eggs were just perfect!
A traditional guesthouse with lovely and appropriate furnishings. It is in the center of the Mangalem portion of Berat, so close to restaurants. WiFi was good. And the hosts were so gracious and welcoming. Breakfast was huge, with eggs, cheese, meats, bread, vegetables, fruit, coffee, tea, and fresh squeezed orange juice all making an appearance. I would absolutely stay here again and so far it is my favorite stay in Albania.
Unfortunately we arrived with food poisoning from our stay on the beach so we didn’t visit Berat or left our room, but Hotel Kapllani was super helpful in accommodating everything what we needed. We ordered soup and they brought it to our rooms, they prepared a breakfast package for our early departure to the airport and the room was beautiful. Very pleasant stay during a unpleasant situation.
it’s very wonderful old style with modern touch design of berat houses
it’s more like guesthouse with standard of hotels
have there own brand wine and raki and mountain tea free for guest to try
very good and big breakfast have everything like it’s coming from heaven!
very welcoming owners
location just perfect in old town
nice experience for the city
highly recommended from me!
Breakfast was delicious. Adriano, in the restaurant, was especially endearing; always making our stay extra special. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. It was great to be able to stay within the castle walls and nearby parking was helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Berati Castle Hotel without hesitation.
It was really amazing hotel for very cheap price. I was very doubtful before booking it but when I arrived there, it was way above my expectations. Room was very clean, very clean bathroom and lovely view of berat. The hotel was also located very close to the castle road and other attractions. Overall extremely happy with it.
Beautiful hotel in excellent location of old town Berat Manga.em area. The highlight was the superb service delivered by the knowledgeable, authentic staff. All were extremely helpful. The buffet and à la cart breakfasts were excellent . Our 2 day stay could not be improved upon. Would highly recommend this property.
At the Onufri hotel, we found a very friendly staff. The hotel architecture was traditional of the Berat city. The hotel was very clean and the food was of high quality. The hotel position was favorable with the tourist attractions of the city. I will come back again with more pleasure.
Fantastic location, easy to get to what you'd want to see in Berat. Owners are incredibly nice and very helpful.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Fantastic terraces with amazing view of the city. Comfortable rooms with every amenity you'd need for a few days.

The location of the property is perfect. It is in the center of Berat. The staff is super nice and tries to help in every way possible. The breakfast is ok. You have also free parking. The room is clean and spacious. So i really recommend this hotel in Berat
Hotel is in typical house for Berat so you can enjoy the atmosphere. Very close from the centre and close from the Berat castle. Quiet location, small stores nearby. We liked a lot our breakfast that was prepared by locals. It felt very much like at home.
Hotel was amazing, super clean, Lorence is a such a nice person, his wife cooked a very good dinner for us too. If i will go to Berat again i will definetly stay in this hostel again. Amazing experience 12 out of 10!!
Really excellent hotel for a great value. Breakfast is great. View is really nice, and the location is ideal for the historic portion of Berat and newer area along the promenade. Would absolutely stay here again.
