Location! Unfortunately, my early departure (6:15am) prevented me from enjoying the breakfast. The restaurant looked nice though. Quiet room. I liked how the room had a small area as you enter where you could sit, remove and keep your shoes. And since there are two doors from there that you can shut for the bathroom and the bedroom, it means that you have two doors between your bed and the hallway. Which means you are much less likely to hear people in the hallway. Smart idea!

Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list. It will be great to hire a tour guide for the explanation and exploration around the old castle area.
Based on the local suggestion, every year, there is an event called epiphany on Jan 6. It will be super good if you can witness this wonderful event.

Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. Very quiet in March but traffic already tough so wouldn’t want to be there in summer.
Only playground in the village was extremely dirty and many things were broken.

Beautiful view of the mountains, interesting castle, nice walks available. Very affordable. We ate at Pizza Visi and it was fresh and tasty (and very informal). We also took a great walking tour with Lazzaro.

I really liked Berat because it's a small city with a great history. It's famous for its architecture and the old city looks amazing. There is also a castle which you can spend half of the day in. Wonderful views and nice people.
In short - everything was great 😀! The hosts are incredibly nice and welcoming! They offered us cold juice when we arrived and prepared delicious homemade breakfasts on the balcony. We really felt like we were welcome there. The room and the bathroom are spacious and everything is extra clean. It's very close to the main promenade, maybe 5 minutes walk to centre of Berat full of restaurants and bars. We hope to come back next time we visit Albania and Berat, most beautyful town we have ever seen!
Loved staying at Ana Rest house. The owners made it feel like a home rather than just a guest house!
The location was amazing- near a lot of the other hostels and the house itself was very cute. Rooms were very clean as well as the common area. I especially enjoyed the terrace with the beautiful view.
Hosts prepared a lovely breakfast in the morning and were always soo helpful with tips for Berat as well as teaching me some Albanian words.
Would always come back and can't recommend enough!
Nice, clean, tidy hotel room. The service staff was nice to me. There was a woman there who prepared breakfast and was kind; when I checked out of the hotel she treated me to a tangerine. The best thing about this hotel is that check-out was supposed to be at 11 a.m., and the hotel owner extended it until 1 p.m., since I asked her to extend it because of my online meeting, which I was very happy about. Recommend to all tourists who visit this beautiful historical city of Berat
The host Kseno is wonderful !
The location inside the castle's walls in such a beautiful street was amazing (but be prepared to walk up and down to see the rest of Berat's old town outside the castle)
The hotel and the room itself were the most beautifully decorated we saw in Albania
As it wasn't during the high tourist season we were able to park right in front of the hotel !
Very nice breakfast with a view, and you should also check their restaurant for lunch or dinner
The property was recently renovated and opened, so everything is new and works well. The house has four rooms for guests, which gives is a cozy and personal feel. When we visited we were the only guests so we got the whole place to ourselves. The property owner was one of the most welcoming men we had met and went out of his way to make sure we have everything we need and beyond! Really impressed by Amalia Boutique Hotel and will recommend to anyone visiting Berat!
Beautiful traditional hotel in the ‘picture postcard’ mountainside of Berat. It’s a lovely hotel nestled into the cobbled streets, which make you feel like you’re going back in time. Breakfast was excellent, we had lovely views, and the room had many homey touches (as well as modern things like a good shower, Netflix enabled tv and aircon / heating!).
White House Berat is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Berat. It’s clean, comfortable, quiet and the staff go above and beyond with their service. The breakfast was delicious and robust, providing many choices for all tastes. The hotel location is also perfect for anyone wanting to be centrally located in the charming old town.
The hotel is enchanting. Staying there really enhances the experience in Berat. It was charming walking up the cobblestone streets to find the hotel. The proprietors serve a lovely breakfast that includes olives from their garden. The views from the terrace and the front room are incredible.
Location on the castle grounds overlooking the town wasfantastic.Family run hotel and the hosts were great, friendly, helpful,so welcoming like we had known them for years.Traditionally decorated in an original house.great breakfasts and highly rated for dinner also.A true Berat experience
We traveled to Berat for the Harvest Festival at Cobo Winery. We really needed to stay one night. The hotel was very comfy, in a well-known neighborhood, very central, and in a typical house of the Unesco Protected city. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was more than expected.
Nice guesthouse in the old city of Berat. Gorgeous terrace where you can have a drink, and where the large breakfast is served. Very helpfull staff.
We had diner at Mangalemi, right across from the small alley where the hotel is situated. Well recommended.
A great family-run hotel set in traditional style. Our room was comfortable and met all our needs. The breakfast was traditional Albanian and the owner was delightful. Plenty of parking. The taverna, also run by the family, offered good food.
Felt really well looked after in this family run and owned hotel. It is a brand new restoration of one of the beautiful store houses in Berat and they have done a tasteful and comfortable job.
Breakfast was excellent, location perfect.
We had a great 2 nights in Berat. The hotel was in the perfect location. Near the main road, the walk up to the castle and had amazing views. A large breakfast (too much food to be honest) but very good! The beds were soft.
I loved the location in the midst of Berat and what a beautiful town it is! The Ansel hotel is in one of the old renovated buildings. It is authentic and the breakfast was the best I ever had in Albania and Montenegro.
Nice small hotel in a good location. Easy walking distance to a range of bars and cafe’s and all of Berat’s attraction’s. Our room was well appointed with a nice en-suite with a good shower. Great views over the town.
This is a hotel full of hospitality. The rooms are kept very clean and breakfast is provided every morning. I highly recommend staying here when you come to Berat.
This is quite a nice hotel within easy walking distance to all the sites in Berat. We had an early bus so missed the breakfast. Highly recommend for a short stay
