Generally, the city is divided into two parts.
Generally, the city is divided into two parts. On the left side of the harbor, with tall buildings and a long beach, and on the right side of the port, also with a beach, but importantly with monuments. The crossing from one side to the other is 1.5 km, along a busy street. I do not recommend by foot. The whole of Albania positively surprised me

The city is really nice, and very nice to walk around. It's very clean, friendly and interesting. I would definitely recommend this to other travellers as a stop off if they were travelling around the North of Albania. Next year, we will be travelling around the South... I found the shop shop and restaurant staff to be very rude and dismissive if they could not understand you. Avoid rehat kebab shop just off the square by the opera house as the old woman tries to short change you. If you wish to take van/bus to berat or other destinations. You need to go to plepa. And not rruga adria as people tell you.taxi is 1000 but Local bus is 40 cents. You pay the conductor. Mini van to berat is 500 each way. Beautiful, long, sandy beach, bustling, bubbly town, lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, we absolutely loved it, we will definitely come back. The only negative is that almost only cash is used in the 21st century in this European country.

Rubbish everywhere. The beach is filthy, plastic bags and empty bottles are everywhere, even in the water. The beach and surroundings are disgusting. The water is not crystal clear like advertised. It's dirty. If you like clean beaches, Durres is not a good choice.StanislawaUnited Kingdom

The place is great, just next to archaeological muzeum of durres and there is a roof where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the bay. I took the chance to work remotely one day and the WiFi is very good, perfect place for remote work. And the owner Jakub is a great person. He let me have a shower before going to airport, even if it was way later my check out. Never in Europe it has me allowed to do so. Only in Albania!BledarItaly

We spent a day in the apartment with my husband, my daughter and two kids. The apartment host was very kind and flexible and available in any time to share information for helping us. The apartment was an excellent choice. The description provided met the reality or maybe I should say the reality exceeded the description a bit. The balcony clean and spacy. Parking in the garage is included in the price. The value for money is perfect. On top the breakfast was a large buffet, many flavors to choose from. The staff was professional and friendly, the housekeepers did a good job during the stay-over cleaning. I think this was the best hotel in Albania i stayed during my April trip

However, the owner picked me up at the bus station. It was great that the WiFi was so strong - that I could use it at the beach in front of the hotel. Despite the busy promenade, the room was surprisingly quiet. Air conditioning worked well. The owner drove me to the airport for 20 eur - cheaper than the local taxi driver suggestion.KMEstonia

He was in contact with taxi driver and met me at my arrival (yes at 1h30 AM ^^) The apartment is clean, located in a quite street, just 1 or 2 minutes walk from the beach :) The food at the hotel restaurant is nice and you can ask for whatever, the team will do their best to help you and find you a solution. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come again :)

Huge wraparound balcony overlooking the main square and the sea. Well equipped. Gent provided easy, fast communication and met me on arrival with the key. Highly recommend!
