Two full days is plenty of time to explore Berat. The castle is worth a visit maybe a taxi up and walk down as its very steep. The two bridges are nice to walk over and the view at night is wonderful. A nice reasonable restaurant is Friendly House the restaurant is upstairs and looks out over the river.

Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list.
Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list. It will be great to hire a tour guide for the explanation and exploration around the old castle area. Based on the local suggestion, every year, there is an event called epiphany on Jan 6. It will be super good if you can witness this wonderful event.

Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. Very quiet in March but traffic already tough so wouldn’t want to be there in summer. Only playground in the village was extremely dirty and many things were broken.

The interior is gorgeous with a traditional design and the rooms have that rustic traditional vibe while also being spotless. The rooms are spacious, and I had a large private balcony looking out toward the mosque and orthodox church. Breakfast was basic but varied with enough fuel to do a lot of walking around the city. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful whenever I had questions; her level of English was high.

The hosts are a small family, who are all incredibly kind and positive people. The food at the restaurant was the best and (crazy enough) cheapest we had in Albania. The breakfast was also great with fruit, yoghurt, eggs, pastries, jams and very good coffee. The hotel is located inside Berat castle, which makes for an unreal location. My wife was sick and the host took such good care of us. Thanks again for such a nice stay!

I would absolutely stay here again and so far it is my favorite stay in Albania.
