Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list. It will be great to hire a tour guide for the explanation and exploration around the old castle area. Based on the local suggestion, every year, there is an event called epiphany on Jan 6. It will be super good if you can witness this wonderful event.

Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. Very quiet in March but traffic already tough so wouldn’t want to be there in summer. Only playground in the village was extremely dirty and many things were broken.

The food at the restaurant was the best and (crazy enough) cheapest we had in Albania. The breakfast was also great with fruit, yoghurt, eggs, pastries, jams and very good coffee. The hotel is located inside Berat castle, which makes for an unreal location. My wife was sick and the host took such good care of us. Thanks again for such a nice stay!
