It is said that abundance in Mendoza was so great at the beginning of the 20th century, that the Wine Festival was celebrated pouring this elixir in the city’s fountains and street-side irrigation canals. Located at Mount Aconcagua’s footstep, the city is an oasis in the middle of the dry beauty of the central Argentinean Andes.
Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, the colonial city was founded in 1561. The irrigation system created by the natives was further developed and became an icon of the city, currently watering near 100,000 trees. The design of the central district includes squares and avenues, and has some of the best luxury hotels in Mendoza.
It is surrounded by vineyards and cellars producing world-class wines. Don’t miss the renowned Malbec variety, and try some of the boutique hotels and rural ‘estancias’ in Mendoza’s wine areas.
Its historic relevance comes from the fact that Argentinean hero José de San Martín prepared here his pioneering crossing of the Andes in 1817, aimed to liberate Chile. This amazing trip with mules and on foot is repeated every year by a group of enthusiasts. The area is actually well-known for mountain sports like hiking, rafting, and skiing.

Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers.
Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers. Great vineyards are close by, as is the option to experience a ‘Gaucho’ horse ride & dinner up in the Andes. Lovely town centre with beautiful parks. Great place to visit!

Mendoza was a lovely city, with almost every street having big shade trees. It felt safe to walk around in, with lots of people out in the evening, and so many places to choose from to eat, often all in the same location on both sides of the street for several blocks, so all you have to do is pick one. There's a lot of variation in the quality of the places available to stay, so I would recommend one with a lot of good reviews. There are also a lot of good tours available, to vineyards, horseback riding, the Andes mountains, and more. We were excited to see wild guanacos (a type of llama) at a couple of places in the older, lower mountains!

There are only two cities in the world that I have liked visiting. One is Vienna Austria and the other is Mendoza. I had no idea that I would like the city as much as I did. Tree lined streets and very clean for the most part unlike other cities I have been to. The people were very nice. All the large cities in the USA are awful in this present day. Not Mendoza. I would go back just to spend more time there. You can have New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, etc. Mendoza is well worth a visit.

You need to go to 23 Rios Craft Beer, not just because they have the most awarded beer, but because they have a great atmosphere and is great to stop drinking wine for one day and replace it by beer. :)

Great if you like wine.
Great if you like wine. If you are not a wine lover, it can be a bit of a challenge to find varied things to do.
Easy to get around and explore the city. Once you leave Mendoza to the Uco Valley the distances between destinations and wineries become long.
Many restaurants are geared towards tourists and have exclusively tasting meus with prix fixed. This can be overwhelming and too rich for everyday dining.
Nice-sized one-bedroom unit with a fabulous view of Plaza Italia. Within walking distance of virtually everything of interest in Mendoza. An extra twin bed is in the living room area so the unit can comfortably sleep 3. The kitchenette area is tiny but sufficiently supplied for making breakfast and reheating take-out meals. Bed is comfortable. The host as great at communicating in advance of - and during my stay.
Place and Facilities. Most of all, kind and dedicated people in Diplomatic Hotel.
Francisco, Conzalo in reception and Luiz in concierge were quite nice and supportive. Especially, supervisor Franco supported me a lot on the check-out date in relation to flight cancellation due to national strike of airport.
One of the rememberable hotels in the history of my visit. Quite strongly recommendable.
Super clean , up to date, has all the amenities, amazing breakfast buffet, great bars around hotel, nice pool and great spa area included with your stay ( sauna, vapor room, jacuzzi) right in front of Plaza Independencia, very close to lots of restaurants, bars and shops, but above all, AMAZING staff! Everyone is nice, professional and courteous!
the welcome from the owners is super warm, they are attentive, available for any information, the room is as it was described, with the comfort of the bed above all. the location is top because everything is close. the best moments of my vacation were in Mendoza in this apart hotel thanks to Ariel and Diego. a very big thank you to you 2
Reception staff were really friendly and helpful both at check in and check out and ordered us a taxi to the airport. The air conditioning in the room was good but noisy. We only spent 24 hours in Mendoza but were able to walk to everything we wanted to see easily from the hotel, and there were lots of good restaurants and bars nearby.
The city of Mendoza is exceptionally beautiful and it deserves much better hotel service than what Hotel Ariosto has to offer. The staff was rude, unhelpful and crass. The room was antiquated and nearly useless, well below the value of the fair. If this hotel were located anywhere else it would be a last alternative for the desperate.
I really felt at home. I was very well received by the hosts. They were kind enough to provide me with a very comfortable private suite. For breakfast I had toasts, grape jelly, butter, milk and coffee. The apartment is really in the heart of Mendoza, very next to the main squares!
We LOVED our stay at Tanino Guest House and could not recommend it enough for those visiting Mendoza. It’s perfectly located (5 minutes from the park and walking distance to bars/restaurants), and the property itself was amazing. Clean, beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic!
Location in Mendoza was good and the staff were helpful. The room wasn't wonderful and was quite basic and dated. The safe box was broken and various other furniture has not been updated for a long time. The hotel serves a purpose without being wonderful.
The hotel is located right next to Pl. Chile, within short walking distance of Pl. Independencia. The service is excellent, and they can help with almost any request! There is the possibility of doing some minor workouts, which is nice.
beautiful apartment in a great location. super clean, quiet and very comfortable. Ana is an amazing host and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. will definitely stay here next time we’re in mendoza!! highly recommend!
Beautiful and cozy hotel. The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room included a QR code voucher that provided breakfast at our choice of about 6 local restaurants. We chose one within a few minutes walking.
Friendly welcoming by Natalia
Well.presemted apartment with all facilities available and cleaned.
Definitely ,I would recommend this to anyone who wish to stay in Mendoza
Everything, the accomodation, the facilities, the breakfast, the staff and more importantly the view and luxurious vibe! One of the best hotel in Maipu!!!
