Really responsive host who was extremely accommodating to our requests (early check in, travel cot). We had children with us so the high chair and stairgates were a bonus. Amazing location, spacious living area and lovely views.

Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Gmunden lacks a decent 4/5 star hotel. There are a couple which are adequate 3 stars.

Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

Amazing lake town, with a special sea-lake architecture. Small but charming and the locals are very friendly. The breakfast is varied and well presented. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was quiet and only a ten minute walk to the beautiful town of Gmunden. This is a family run hotel and the owners work there along with an exceptional team of staff, who organised take away food for us, taxis and train schedules to visit other places in Austria.

In the case of the lake view room, waking up in the morning to see the view from our room was a delight. Both rooms were big and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of the town and in front of the lake. The breakfast was superb and the staff was helpful, always smiling and ready to help. We will definitely come back!

It is a two-room apartment in a historic 16th century house that has been modernly renovated. The kitchen contains everything you need for cooking, the bathroom is clean and the beds are comfortable. But everything is so close, so we were surprised when in the evening of our arrival went to the old centre and saw the tram. Shops are 4 min drive. The owner is a lovely women, gave us summer cards and advice where we could go. The apartment is spotless clean and has everything you might need.

In case you don't speak german, they speak english. There's a private garage for the guests, just enter straight from the main street and ignore the "traffic prohibited" sign (it doesn't apply to the hotel guests).
