A very pleasant surprise!
A very pleasant surprise! Half the price of London - a meal for two with a bottle of wine averaged £30. I'd recommend Borani and Dorma - both in Fountain Square - tasty food and extremely friendly. In August, the temperature is around 38 degrees but there is a cool breeze which took the edge off - most inside places are air-conditioned. Definitely download the Bolt app (Uber) - taxis are extremely cheap and handy to get around. We went to Shikh Beach which was 5 miles out and it only cost £3.50! It's a 6 hour flight from London and Azerbaijan Airlines were awesome - I'd definitely recommend this as an affordable and enjoyable destination!Guest review byDW73United Kingdom - 10.0

Baku is an amazing mix of history and modern life. The beautiful Old City with its narrow streets and historic buildings feels like stepping back in time, while the modern boulevard along the Caspian Sea is perfect for relaxing walks. People here are incredibly hospitable and always ready to help. The food is delicious — from fresh kebabs to local sweets. Everything is clean, safe, and easy to explore. Historical sites are wonderful: we visited Gobustan, Atashkah, Yanardag and Carpet Museum. We also stood at Sea Breeze, the amazing beach resort. Food is better than anywhere else - I like it more than Istanbul. People are very friendly and speak English very well.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Baku is a beautiful and peaceful city on the coast of Red Sea.Weather was excellent, sun and shade equally pleasant. Malls and parks attracting , cleanliness at its best, and traditional food and environment of Nizami Street at night really enjoyable. Azarbaijan has beautifully preserved the names and graves of their martyrs. Food, hotels and transportation ,all are affordable .Overall Baku is worth visiting -a three day trip is enough unless you want to relax a bit longer in the serene environment of Baku.Guest review byHabib Awan
