Location was great as it was quiet, but old town was still within walking distance. The free parking was easy. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious (though you had to ask if you wanted things like yogurt or fruit so we didn't get any of that as we didn't know). It was fairly clean and the beds were comfortable.

It's absolutely beautiful! The Old Bridge (which was rebuilt after the war) is a favourite tourist attraction so the area was quite busy. There are loads of restaurants, gift shops and bars. Try Craft Beer Garden for local ales with a terrace next to the river. Our favourite restaurant was called Malo Misto - superb food, lovely atmosphere, great prices, just outside the central area.
Be aware that there are no shops open on Sundays, and hardly any taxis. We drove our rental car into the centre on Sunday and found free parking and plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Mostar is very pretty, famously so.
Mostar is very pretty, famously so. The Old Town is small, and the new town has nothing to offer tourists, so do stay in the Old Town as close to the Bridge as possible. During the day there are hordes of day trippers, but at night it is much quieter and very lovely, so staying the night is essential; I stayed two nights which was just fine. It is very picturesque but that is it - there are no headline museums etc. Lots of touristy places to eat, all much of a muchness. As with the rest of BiH, very reasonably priced. Great ice cream! If you are interested in the civil war, there are many signs in the new town and on the edge of the old town of the conflict. In addition, the old bridge is of course a reconstruction as is most of the old town.

Super cozy town to wander through.
Super cozy town to wander through. Nice little shops with handmade products, many restaurants and café with cheap food and drink.
Just avoid the cafee under the bridge called Eko co. Worst service and bad coffee - not autenthic Bosnian. Super expensive.

Mostar is a captivating city that embodies a unique blend of historical gravitas and scenic charm, making it a must-visit destination in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nestled along the picturesque Neretva River, the city is famed for its iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a stunning example of Islamic architecture in the Balkans and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic bridge, beautifully reconstructed after the war, provides a symbolic connection between the city's diverse cultural and religious communities.
Visitors can explore the cobbled streets of the Old Bazaar, where traditional craft shops and quaint cafes offer a taste of local life and hospitality. The Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque is another highlight, offering panoramic views of the city from its minaret. Also FORTICA is the best place to see Mostar from the hill, highly recommend take taxi 1km per Kilometre… ask driver for pick up later or walk down.
Mostar also serves as a gateway to explore the region's natural beauty. Nearby attractions include the emerald waters of the Kravica Waterfall and the serene Blagaj Tekija, a Dervish monastery nestled against a cliff beside the Buna River, which is perfect for a peaceful afternoon outing and Pocitelj ahistorical place!
With its rich history, stunning architecture, and warm, welcoming atmosphere, Mostar is truly a jewel worth exploring. Each corner of the city offers new delights and a chance to step back in time while enjoying the vibrant local culture.
Best place to eat and value for money:
- Cernica chevabdzinca, (a hidden gem) mix grill platter 40km in Cernica street, also Rodjeni Pie shop.
- Best Pizza (cappricioza my fav) in Nidze Veze in Boulevar opposite the Catholic church.
- Asdzinica Saraj by the Karadzozbeg Mosque, best to eat early between 10-12am, best traditional food reasonable prices
Malta - outside Mostar on the way to Blagaj fabulous food reasonable priced

Even in spring, the famous bridge attracts an awful lot of tourists in the day and early evening, so do bear this in mind and be patient. However it is definitely worth seeing (best from the river) and if the weather is good do wait for the locals jumping off the bridge - this takes place about every 30-minutes. If you're on the bridge the divers may ask if can make a contribution. don't overlook the rest of the town and you can still see traces of the civil war if you walk further out. Sadly, someone removed the Bruce Lee statue, only the pedestal remains. Highly recommend train journey between Mostar and Sarajevo.
For the price, this hotel is everything we could have hoped for. Beautifully modern, well laid out rooms with Smart TV, fridge, kettle etc. We stayed as a family of 4 and would certainly return if we were ever to visit Mostar again. The bar is VERY reasonable (2 bottles of beer, 1 red bull, 5 soft drinks = £11.40!!) and the food looked good too.
Special thanks to the bar staff and reception staff who were extremely helpful. They even called a taxi for us to get us into the old town when we needed it. Don't hesitate to stay here.
Location is extremely convenient for city seeking hosts is very kind and friendly that makes you stay stress free
Very clean, spotless, makes you feel like home away from home , highly recommended for anyone who would like to come and visit Bosnia and Herzegovina ❤️ Walking distance to Old bridge Mostar, and all the restaurants. Recommended to everyone whom is traveler and admires good place to stay and meet wonderful people . Vanja thank you so much , you re amazing , our stay was unforgettable and special❤️
Impeccably clean, wonderful views over the Neretva River in the heart of Mostar, and a well furnished kitchen, as well as a sunny balcony made the apartment at Guest House City Star one of the very best places I've stayed during several months of traveling in the Balkans. The hosts are friendly and on the days they are around will make a great cup of Bosnian coffee for you, and when I asked for a corkscrew, the host delivered it along with a wonderful bottle of Hercegovian wine.
Our stay at Hotel Emen was fantastic. The suite was updated, clean, and comfortable. The staff were all so friendly and helpful from the moment that we arrived. They assisted us with finding parking and even helped carry our luggage. The breakfast was an excellent variety of foods, and our whole family enjoyed the meal. The hotel is located in a great area and is a quick walk to many restaurants and shops and all of the sights of Mostar.
Staff were super helpful and were always around during the day if you needed anything at all. The apartment that we got was super nice and we were upgraded to a larger one for free since it was a quiet period for the hotel. Breakfast every day was lovely and delicious. Location is amazing and central to the Mostar Old Town and also close to the famous bridge!
The staff is amazing, extremely helpful and gave us great restaurant recommendations.
The family room is good size for 3 people, but small for 4 (but Lajla at the reception gave us another room free of charge since there was availability)
The hotel is walking distance to the old town, and the perfect spot to stay to enjoy all that Mostar has to offer.
Super hotel. I've stayed in Mostar many times and this is easily the best place I've stayed. Brought my mum here to experience Mostar and she loved the hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the Bosnian meze breakfast is exceptional. Location is perfect, room was very good, hotel is cosy, and price is very good. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
It was in perfect location. The staff was really nice. Also the bed was perfect, very hard and large. Air conditioner in the room was working great. It was located at the other side of the room so it was not disturbing when you were at sleep. Compared to the othet hotels in Bosnia - with that money, you can't go any better.
Very good run family hotel full of care
The young lady looking after the hotel goes the extra mile and make sure you happy
We had a late check in and the young lady waited for us later than supposed to.
She gave us advise where to go in Mostar
The CB place has all you need from kettle to washing machine, dryer, snacks …
Stay in Bosnian Home was perfect. The owner is very friendly, helped us with everything and recommended an excellent restaurant. Room was very nice and clean with view on the river. Old city and old bridge is very close, only few minutes walk. If we visit Mostar again, we will definitely stay here
The hotel is easy to find by car. Very friendly staff and the car parking is very safe. Breakfast certainly was above Bosnian standard. The location of the hotel is superbe. A few minutes walking from the stari most and the old town. It's the ideal location when you do sightseeing by walking.
An excellent 5* hotel in Mostar. Spotless clean, professional and kind staff. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. All very convenient and close placed on 8&9 floors of Mepas Shopping Mall. Good breakfast, great SpA area. 30min walk from the Old Town. Good garage. Absolutely recommended des.
Everything. Nestled in the heart of the Mostar Villa Anri offers blend of Mediterranean history, culture and warm hospitality everything about this charming boutique hotel is wonderful, from views of old bridge, comfy beds, and great breakfast
Private parking in the street in front of the hotel. Safe area (just in the border between Croatian and Bosniac quarters). Really close to the city center. Big, simple, and comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast including fruit.
Beautiful hotel on the river in Mostar, amazing location in the old town, the nicest staff who are very accommodating to requests, one of the best hotels I've ever been to in the world! Even the food was excellent!
Interesting architecture
Staff in hotel were young and very impressive - they really try very hard - Bosnia should be proud of them
