Breakfast selection was limited. We were encouraged to NOT order from the menu. When we did we waited 60 minutes for our meal. Unacceptable!

I liked how engaging the staff were during my stay. Since I was alone for my vacation I could just talk to the bartenders at the bar. Even the front desk clerks would come up to me to ask about my day. I also enjoyed how peaceful it was during my stay. It was truly relaxing my whole time there.
Most of what I needed was within walking distance. An ATM is a 5 minute walk, multiple places to shop at right across from the bank, restaurants to eat out at are 15 minutes if you don't plan on eating at the resort, and a gas station convenient store/burger king is between 15 to 20 minutes walking distance. Not bad at all.

Breakfast was fine, location was good. Our room had a nice view of the beach. Most of the staff were helpful, if not exactly cheerful.

We stayed at Gully Point in Hometown, Saint James, Barbados, which was an excellent Villa 15 mins walk to the beach/town.
The beaches are excellent, some with less or slightly more rocks depending on where you are, but able to enjoy the water and beach at many locations fairly easily.
If you're not wanting to spend too much $$ for a fancy beachside restaurant, you can often rent a pair of chairs and umbrella for ~ $20 USD for the day and bring your own drinks/food.
The city of Holetown has everything you need from grocery store, Starbucks, restaurants, beachside bars and restaurants.
There are locals who will offer seadoo or various other water sport experiences, but be sure to bargain otherwise it can get very expensive.
Very good overall beach area to visit, safe, but it is a bit on the pricier side in comparison to other islands.

There are 2 or 3 main areas for "stuff" in Barbados... there's the area around Worthing Beach / Carlisle Beach / Christchurch - just south of Bridgetown known as St Lawrence Gap / Oistins.
There's Speightstown
...and there's St James - known as the platinum coast. St James has good beaches and some of the best restaurants and bars on the Island. Great supermarkets for the self-catering traveller and amazing hotels for those who want cosseting.

I only spent a day in St James but I found it to be more peaceful than the Southern coast. The beache I visited was just as lovely as the nicest beach I visited in Worthing. there were fewer shopping opportunities as the area is mostly residential with more impressive hotels

Great location with plenty of nice bars, restaurants, beach access and shops. Busy highway running through but accommodation is plentiful and it isn’t hard to find a quiet spot.
The Tides, Seashed and Fusion are all great options. Buses and taxis readily available everywhere.

St James is an excellent area for a Beach holiday.
St James is an excellent area for a Beach holiday.
But I’m biased I was born in St James. I always return there.
There are very nice pubs and restaurants, you get to see the sun go down. It easy to get to other part of the island. Great public transport links.
Holetown has the Limegrove shopping precinct and a vibrant night life. Massey’s supermarket and Cave Shepherd shopping experience, if you run out of funds there are several cash machines and Banks available.

Saint James is a quiet town but tourists can still access busy areas such as the Saint Lawrence gap easily from this parish. Lots of nearby pubs for live entertainment and lots of food options to choose from. However food in this region is rather expensive compared to the city Bridgetown.
We had a very spacious and clean suite when we checked in. I loved the swimming pool that was less than 20 steps from our back patio. I swam everyday during our stay - even on the day when it was pouring down rain! The concierge was very helpful in arranging taxi rides and local attraction tickets for us. Our suite, pool, lounge area, and the surrounding landscaping were beautifully maintained. Having the full kitchen, washer, and dryer was a plus. We truly enjoyed our stay at Beach View Hotel.
We loved the owner, Ms. Ann Marie. She was so kind to us. She made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She was polite and professional. She made us feel right at home. I would definitely be staying here whenever I visit beautiful Barbados and I will recommend this villa 100%
The place was clean and tidy. It was equipped with everything that we needed... sheets, towels, pots, pans, cuttlery, iron, fan, bedrooms are A/C, TV including Netflix, washer and also toiletries 😀
There is nothing to not like about this hotel. It's right on the beach, is attached to a fabulous beach bar and restaurant, it's the bargain of the century, the location is unbeatable and all the staff are exemplary, the epitome of cheerfulness and helpfulness, literally nothing is a problem! We loved it and would return there in a heartbeat.
Location was excellent. Having use of other hotels in the group and the free water taxi is a massive bonus. Water sports included too was also a bonus. Hotel was clean although starting to look tired in places. Having a coffee and wine bar servicing nice coffee was also great. Children's club very welcoming and had lots for the kids to do
The hospitality, service, safety, cleanliness, location, and community were exceptional. Coral Lane felt like our home away from home. A little oasis that welcomed our family like no other place I’ve stayed before in Barbados. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our family trip that much more memorable.
Great location on the west coast, with sun-loungers on the beach, and easy walking access south and north along the stunning west coast beaches.
Water taxi service between partner hotels in the Elegant Hotels Group along the west coast offers great views along the west coast.
Friendly and relaxed hotel staff.
The price. Compared to other properties nearby, it was cheaper and probably had more space that the average hotel room for a similar or higher price. I loved the balcony with the accordion door that could open up the entire length of the wall. The security measures for this entire complex made me feel safe.
We loved the location and the quaint size of the hotel, so you didn’t feel like you were staying in a huge resort or anything. Also, after meeting other tourists around the island we quickly realized that west coast is the best coast for calm serene waters :) so glad we booked here !
not enough can be said about our wonderful host Denise and her family: they were very welcoming and very kind to us during our whole visit. when we return to Barbados this will always be our choice of where to stay…. I cannot imagine anything more wonderful.
One thing that was somewhat disappointing was the breakfast.
Whilst it was fine the selection was not unto the standard of other recent hotels.
For example no fresh pastries, cold meats or cheese or other luxuries one can expect
Great rooms and location. However the main pool was not functioning and we are not made aware of that at any point before getting to the hotel. So sitting on the main terrace and on the loungers was unpleasantly noisy and dusty.
A beautifully situated small hotel in well maintained tropical gardens with two excellent swimming pools. The staff were, without exception friendly and helpful.
The dining facilities, food and ambience all top class
we stayed in 3 hotels on the west coast and the beach was the best. clearest water and most beautiful beach. The swim up room was fabulous. Lots of options for breakfast and dinner.
It’s was a great the apartment was comfortable nice location taxi driver mr.andy was great and Andrew was very helpful anytime I come back to Barbados I know way to stay thanks guys
Absolutely love it at the Beach View Hotel. The rooms and spacious and comfortable. The staff are always helpful. We have returned a few times and will be back in February.
it was a very well organised hotel, the staff were absolutely amazing, so helpful and friendly! The free water sports were great fun and always available.
