I only spent a day in St James but I found it to be more peaceful than the Southern coast. The beache I visited was just as lovely as the nicest beach I visited in Worthing. there were fewer shopping opportunities as the area is mostly residential with more impressive hotels

Great location with plenty of nice bars, restaurants, beach access and shops. Busy highway running through but accommodation is plentiful and it isn’t hard to find a quiet spot. The Tides, Seashed and Fusion are all great options. Buses and taxis readily available everywhere.

St James is an excellent area for a Beach holiday.

St James is an excellent area for a Beach holiday. But I’m biased I was born in St James. I always return there. There are very nice pubs and restaurants, you get to see the sun go down. It easy to get to other part of the island. Great public transport links. Holetown has the Limegrove shopping precinct and a vibrant night life. Massey’s supermarket and Cave Shepherd shopping experience, if you run out of funds there are several cash machines and Banks available.

Saint James is a quiet town but tourists can still access busy areas such as the Saint Lawrence gap easily from this parish. Lots of nearby pubs for live entertainment and lots of food options to choose from. However food in this region is rather expensive compared to the city Bridgetown.

The area of Holetown in St James is an upmarket part of Barbados. The main coastal road makes it easily accessible by bus etc . The small town surrounds it . Barbados is expensive but look around and you'll find some more reasonable places to eat & drink, surfside /zaccios/ just grillin'. Large supermarket, very friendly people. Couple of night spots . A lovely chilled out place .

The location is perfect for visitors!

The location is perfect for visitors! There's a lot around such as sufficient gas stations with convenience stores, there is a well stocked supermarket that is central, enough restaurants and eating joints and the commute to the South Coast (another tourist town) is not bad.
