We stayed for one night in this family-owned cosy hotel, that we chose mainly because it had a swimming pool for the children. We got a huge, clean, nice family room (with 4 single beds you can move around as needed) and immediate access to the swimming pool, which was top notch (especially after driving in the August heatwave!). At night there was not a single noise, we could really relax and we all slept well.
The shower room was fantastic and had been recently renovated by the looks of it. There are several restaurants in the area, and Turnhout is a short drive away.
The owner is super friendly and accommodating, and we also liked the breakfast (freshly baked bread and croissants from the local bakery!) Overall a great experience at a very competitive price.

Great reception and very hospitable host. Nice room for a single traveler and a nice and comfy bed.

Personalized reception by the owner. A charming B&B with a private parking. The room was clean with a cosy atmosphere.Friendly and attentive staff, very good breakfast served on the table. We recommend this place and certainly will come back.
The town was quaint. The brick cathedral was well worth a visit. (1560 the tallest). I think anyone interested in architecture would want to see the residences in the area. The saying that "Belgium's were born with a brick in their stomach" is evident.
Great bike paths are everywhere and are flat.

As our stay was very short, we did not get a chance to savour what Merksplas has to offer. Alas on the drive-through we did see many small and charming shops and restaurants. It all looks very cozy and friendly. There are many cycle paths and it looks like a great place for walking.
