Belem is a once wealthy city that has fallen into decline.
Belem is a once wealthy city that has fallen into decline. Like many Brazilian cities, it has a serious crime problem, but unlike other Brazilian cities, it doesn't have the living behind walls feel that other cities have and has pretty good walkability, but that ever present feeling of crime is there so use common sense and don't be afraid to ask about safety. The residents are familiar with their city and will be honest as to where and when you can walk and where you should take Ubers instead. Architecture, historic and modern, is spectacular but often covered in graffiti and mildew with the latter the inevitable result of a city that was carved out of the Amazon Rain Forest. The cultural attractions like churches, museums, and gardens are incredible as are the markets. Belem restaurants have the best food I've eaten in Brazil and that alone is reason enough to visit. I was only there a few days, but I will go back. Beware, the heat and humidity in the day is brutal and expect torrential rains at any time, but at night, it's much more comfortable to be outside. Brazilians are some of most hospitable, laid back, and beautiful people on earth. Come here and enjoy the culture, hospitality, and beauty. You won't be disappointed.

We visited a very interesting park, the Mangal das Garças. Terrific place, big enough to spend the whole day there. A huge and very interesting zoobotanical garden, just in the city.
Another interesting place to go is de Estação das Docas, where you can enjoy delicious regional food dishes, ice-cream made of regional fruits of the Amazon rainforest, live music at a stage in the air that moves from one point to the other of the falicity.

We did a city tour through GetYourGuide which was really worth it as you went around the ver o peso market, and around the city - good to get your bearings. The Estacao das Docas was a great place to hang out, especially at the microbrewery. The house of the eleven pillars was a great place to go for a sunset drink and meal (but the restaurant was the same as the hotel, Atrium Quinta De Pedras).
All in all Belem surprised me with its many sights, bars and restaurants. Glad we went and wished we had stayed longer.

The city has a vast culture, great cuisine, with great cultural options such as some churches, squares. But what really impresses is the combú island with great restaurants and the possibility of being in contact with a beautiful Amazon.

Belem is a beautiful place with lots of natural beauty to explore. During this visit I was able to hike in Utinga Park and go to a great restaurant on the Amazon in Il do Combu. I spent a lot of time at the two main malls and at the Estacos de Docas especially at Amazon Beer which has amazing foods. There are great Amazonian dishes to be found all over Belem. The people were friendly and I did not have any issues getting around either by walking or via uber.

Belem has some interesting places to visit (Teatro da Paz, Docas, Goeldi museum and some parks such as Mangal das Garças). Morevover, has one of the most interesting and surprising gastronomy in the world.
The nature around Belem is wonderful, such as the Combu Island with very good restaurants. Enjoy the strong presence of the water and the intense green of the forests around.
The city itself is noisy, polluted, poor, and dirt.
The room we stayed was not big, but it was confortable enough for what the hotel promises. The downside is that the beds are not made, in fact, they fold the sheets everyday, which means you have to redo the bed everyday. It would be much better if they simply didn't touch the beds. The pressure of the water in the shower is a plus, but the temperature is inconstant (very warm in daytime and slightly coldish at night). The breakfast is not cheap, but it's abundant and fresh.
I will definitely stay here again.
The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcomed. I asked for a special request for one of my colleagues and they were happy to make it happen. I highly recommend this hotel.
The buffet has a large selection of items. Some rooms had a big balcony to the main street, others didn't have one and faced away from the street but these are very quiet rooms.
Overall: a good mid-range-price hotel.
Cosy hotel with a professional touch of Europe! Friendly staff and what is very unique in this area is that most of them speak English. Fresh colored artistic decor that makes environment feel energizing all the time.
A small convenience outlet near the frontdesk made snacking late hours very easy 😃.
Kuddos to Douglas Barros and Stephanno Panatto who made it an amazing and unforgettable stay 🥰
The hotel needs a upgrade, it’s old. However, it’s a good location to stay a few nights. Accross the hotel there is a nice cafe with live music which we really enjoyed. We had good caipirinha’s at that cafe :-)
Breakfast at the hotel was great!
And the staff was friendly and rooms were clean!!
Our flight was changed so we ended up staying only 4 hours. For this purpose the hotel is perfect. Very basic, but with a clean bed and a good shower, that’s all you need, and all you’d expect for the price paid.
Surprisingly the night receptionist spoke very good English and was very friendly.
This was my second time in Ecopousada Miriti. And as a European I can tell you that for the price, this is a really, really nice hotel. If you want some quite and peace in the buzzing city Belem, this is your place to be. Also the theatre and its beautiful park is very close.
It has a good location. breakfast was top. I like the fruits, eggs, cake that was delicious.
the room was clean and comfort. this hotel is nearby the market like vero peso and docas.
on sunday you have a beautiful market at the park.
Pleasant and comfortable hotel, very helpful staff, but the location is less than ideal: it's a bit distant from the historic center and attractions, but taxis (Uber) are readily and rapidly available - I would certainly book again.
The hotel is centrally located close to the principal sights and provides comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is good (especially the fruit) for this category of hotel.
refurbished historic building (previously a school), with modern décor and lush gardens, this hotel is located next to the local picturesque fish and vegetable market (Ver-o-Peso) and other attractions
Staff are fantastic, despite the presence of the Brazilian National Football Team in the hotel, they were very helpful and attentive! The owner is very visible. Great location. Great restaurant.
I arrived from a flight after midnight. I was told my confirmed reservation was no longer good. Had to pay a higher price.
International Airport hotel, NOBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH!!
