Easy check in, 24h reception and practical for my case that arrived late and needed a decent and clean room to spend the night so I could hit the road the next day, so it did the trick.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, clean bathroom. Good security too. The room was more comfortable and spacious than I thought. The AC is an old type and makes some noise but that’s common here and it does its job well. The window of my room faced the corridor not outside but it made the room very quiet for sleep.

The reason I visited Manaus was to visit the Amazon Rainforest at the end of my trip to Argentina/ Brazil. There is little point visiting Manaus (outside of work / conferences) without visiting the Amazon.

We enjoyed visiting the historic centre of Manaus,...
We enjoyed visiting the historic centre of Manaus, especially the tour of the Opera house (can only visit on a guided tour but it was cheap). We adored the lunch that we had at Caxiri (almost worth visiting Manaus alone, and if you are in Manaus for any other reason you should make every effort to go). We used Manaus as a base for doing a day tour into the jungle - the tour was disappointing with regards the wildlife seen (a tarantula and 3 sloths) during a 2.5hour hike - we saw more wildlife on our visit to Sugarloaf mountain in Rio. Wife loved every minute of being in the water with the Amazonian pink dolphins, which was included in our Amazon day trip. Manaus market was disappointing. Uber was an effective way of getting around the city.

We spent a week in Manaus, with a few days south in the Amazon and one day north in Presidente Figueiredo.
I don't think I'd travel here if it weren't for the Amazon. The city can be dangerous as night, and there isn't a lot of tourist areas - other than the theatre - I'd be comfortable being in at night.
That said, the walk from the pier to the theatre is great -- lots of shops and local stands. Restaurants around the Teatro Amazonas are fantastic, and the vibe in square is pretty cool. People are friendly and not too pushy.
The weather is unsurprisingly hot, we had high 30s in the 'winter.' The flight in and out of Manaus was easier than it is flying in other countries (UK and the US for example). Also everything is pretty cheap, especially if you're comfortable going a couple blocks out of the tourist strip.
Highly recommend using it as a base to go on an Amazon tour. We did one day hike and one three-day eco lodge experience - which was the highlight of our two weeks in Brazil.

Manaus is a tropical city in northwest Brazil and very nice to explore the Amazon rainforest. At the point where the Negro River and muddy Solimões River meet, the water do not merge, and it is very intersting view. The city is to dirty, that it was really bad. Could be a better place to stay because the people are really nice.

Manaus was different for me.
Manaus was different for me. The people was nice despite all the warnings I got to be very careful where you walk in the area. Although the humidity was high and it got warmer towards midday, it was cool in the morning and evenings. It was hard to find currency exchange places and the rates were a bit extreme. I loved the local market, the food was great, the people were friendly and helpful. I will return in the future and explore more there.

Sweetest staff ever!
When I sent to the rain forest, they took care of my things. When I came back heat shocked and burned because our boat got stuck in quicksand, they went to the pharmacy for me to get medicine. They are honestly the nicest.
Also this is definitely the best budget for central Manaus. They have air conditioning, the rooms are safe, it’s not a fancy American chain hotel, instead they arrange everything with so much love…
The hotel is next to Amazonas opera thus offering great central location. The rooms are well designed, clean and good size. The public space interiors are beautiful and full of history. Wi-fi worked well. The breakfast was great. The price is good.
I liked the comfort of the room. A well maintained, clean room with good AC, good shower and a comfy kingsize bed.
Although we stayed for just one night (again), I would happily go back to this hotel for exploring Manhaus.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had AC, large and comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. The hotel was close to the Amazonas theatre. It had good price.
