FAQs about hotels in São Paulo

A Metropolis on the Edge of the Rainforest

Skyscrapers and the frenzy of busy Sao Paulo are matched by countless gastronomic offerings, endless cultural activities, and a busy nightlife.

Founded by Jesuits in 1554, the city also known as Sampa became a powerful industrial hub in the late 19th century with Greater Sao Paulo home to 20 million inhabitants. Attracting immigrants from all over the world, it became the most ethnically diverse city in Brazil.

Walk down Avenida Paulista and immerse yourself in one of the biggest economic centers in the world. This avenue also represents the heart of Brazil’s cultural scene, hosting numerous venues. Don’t miss the Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo, home of the biggest collection of Western Art in Latin America.

You can find Sao Paulo hotels in the lively center, but if you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere you should check out hotels in Sao Paulo's Jardins neighborhood. With a laid-back feel with bohemian bars and artisan shops, Vila Madalena is also a good alternative.

Whether you arrive at Guarulhos International Airport or Congonhas Airport, don’t miss the deals on Sao Paulo accommodations available on Booking.com!

Sao Paulo is larger and exciting city with many interesting things to see. While not especially scenic, it is Brazil's most important city for many reasons and an excellent place to enjoy Brazil's cosmopolitan culture.

We didn't expect much from Sao Paulo, just another big city, but we were so pleasantly surprised. 2 and a half days wasn't enough, we will definitely be back! Rent a bike and cycle through Ibirapuera park- we saw a Toucan in the trees!! We loved the Afro-Brazilian museum and MASP- MASP is free from 6-8pm on Fridays but you need to book online in advance. Walk Paulista Ave in the afternoon before you go, including Trianon park for a pocket of Atlanic Forest in the city centre. Get ramen in Liberdade- we loved Lamen Kazu. Pinheiros and Vila Madalena are great for nightlife. We didn't see the city centre much except for Mercado Municipal (for a mortadella sandwich, of course) and en route to the airport. It's quite run down. We would have liked to do a walking tour of the Centro Historico but just didn't have time. Next time!

It is a big city that deserves a long stay, but there is so much to explore and be satisfied with in a short stay too. Using public transport can be a bit confusing at first, as some buses accept contactless credit card payments and others do not. Going out for a drink or a meal is very pleasant. It is a city that is not short of nightlife,

I loved how clean and safe Sao Paolo is.

I loved how clean and safe Sao Paolo is. It is diverse and offers many cuisines. I didn't see many laundromats. it is easy to navigate and Sundays offer a unique vibe where the main road is closed and there is a market offering goods. The diversity of cuisines is also impressive.

Huge, gritty, multi-ethnic city, with good museums, parks, and shopping but relatively few standard tourist attractions for a big city. The multiethnic mix and frequency of same sex couples and transgender persons is striking.

São Paulo is a large city, gigantic, and has the vibes of,...

São Paulo is a large city, gigantic, and has the vibes of, precisely, a large city. It's filled with huge buildings, noisy, people seem always in a rush. It's a bit lifeless even with all the movement and traffic is horrible after 6:00 pm. The contrasts are glaring and fascinating, you can see complete abandon and misery just a couple blocks from amazing buildings that look like fancy shampoo bottles. That's a constant in Brazil, but in São Paulo in particular, it was kinda sad. You really have to try and find interesting stuff to do in my opinion. Everything is far from everything, if you like shopping and museums, is definitely great, but the moment I started to try and find for nature, quiet spaces, that was the moment I realized São Paulo wasn't the right fit for me. It has the most soulless shopping malls I've seen in my life. I've been there before because of work, and that maybe makes me biassed. I just wish São Paulo was a little friendlier towards people who want a quiet stay. People are amazing, there's some beautiful architecture to behold, you can buy pretty much anything you can think of. But I'm a quiet guy. I'll give São Paulo another chance eventually, but my mind wasn't in the right place for it during this trip.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and had a fantastic experience. All of the staff were very friendly, looked after us (especially as our Portuguese is limited) and made our stay very memorable. We loved all of the facilities - the gym, spa, restaurants, pools and rooms all are setup to a feel luxurious. We would recommend to anyone visiting to São Paulo looking for a luxury and relaxing hotel stay.

The hotel exceeded all our expectations! The breakfast spread is just divine, and so tasty! We loved exploring the neighbourhood on foot and rented bicycles. All the main tourist areas are fairly close or reachable by Uber, including Paulista Ave, Batman Alley, Ibirapuera Park, Sao Paulo Cathedral, Liberdade district and many more. Rooms are tastefully decorated and beds are comfortable.
