Uma Suites Ondarreta, hotel in San Sebastián

Well located in the Antiguo district of San Sebastián, Uma Suites Ondarreta is located 550 metres from La Concha Beach, 550 metres from Ondarreta Beach and 1.1 km from Santa Clara Island Beach.

Fantastic little boutique hotel. I really enjoyed my 3 nights here. The room was bright, spacious, nicely designed and very comfortable. I had the same feeling for the common area where one can enjoy a nice coffee or tea, offert. The hotel is located in a very quiet area of San Sebastian, maybe too quiet. It is close to the best beach in town, and one can find nice bars, restaurants and coffee shops nearby. We even found the best bakery with the best Tarta de queso I have ever had. Go on and look for it... The only little bad thing is that the hotel is a bit difficult to find, and especially when traveling by car. But overall I highly recommend Umma suite hotel.

FAQs about hotels in San Sebastián

Amazing Coastline and Historical Beauty

San Sebastian is a famous beach resort in the north of Spain with picturesque coastline, vibrant nightlife and amazing Basque gastronomy.

Playa de la Concha is one of the world’s most popular city beaches, ideal for watersports lovers. Rent a surfboard on Zurriola beach or just relax on a cosy lounge chair under your umbrella.

Established as the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian features a variety of bars and restaurants serving delicious pintxos (Basque-style tapas), fresh seafood and fine wine. According to Spanish tradition, you should have one tapa and a wine in one bar, then move on to the next bar.

The tree-covered hill standing just across the gulf is called Urgull and offers spectacular views over the bay and city. Situated at the bottom of it, Parte Vieja is the old part of the town where you can mix with the locals and visit some of the city’s most interesting historical attractions.

San Sebastian Airport is located 20 km east, so it's a short journey into the city itself. Booking.com offers a choice of accommodation ranging from luxury hotels to guest houses, apartments and budget hostels.

There was a bike ride that finished in the centre the day we stayed so it was very busy which added to the experience. Parking was not easy ,they give you very little room in the parking bays in the underground parking and forget about parking on the streets! We were there on a Sunday. Loads of tapas bars to choose from. I would have liked to shop but not a lot open ,but it was a Sunday after all! Look up , the buildings are wonderful.

There are restraints nearby where you can eat delicious Pinchos, so it was quite easy to get to. It was incredibly quiet from night to morning. Yes, there was no noise at all. I never once felt like I was in an unsafe place. Next time I'll try taking the bus.

San Sebastian is really a great city for views: you have 2 mountains accessible on foot with great views on the bay (concha), the city and the ocean. There is also nice architecture (Art Nouveau), a great basque history/art museum (San Telmo) and a maritime museum with an aquarium. And there is a great beach for surfing (Zurriola). So on the boulevards you can see side by side a surfer with surfboard and a very smartly dressed couple walking toward the Kuursaal.

    Parks and beaches are beautiful.

Parks and beaches are beautiful. Food at some bars and restaurants is phenomenally good! I didn’t have time to visit museums, but I expect they are up to the quality of other aspects of public life. And people on the street and in the bars seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. (Although everyone seems to love a holiday weekend.)

The city is pretty and clean.

The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. The people are friendly and will work with you.

We had a one day stop in San Sebastián and could not have chosen a better base! The hotel definitely has a certain charm to it (we loved the wooded entryway!), and our room was lovely, especially the sitting area with a sea view. The location was absolutely perfect, a stone’s throw away from the old town - it was so easy to explore, come back whenever we needed, and make the most of our stay. The receptionist was welcoming, gave us lots of local recommendations, and kindly allowed us to check in a little early. Overall an absolute gem!

A short walk puts you on the lovely beach promenade; on La Concha beach itself; in a lovely, vibrant plaza; or in the old city, which offers a huge number of choices of pinxtos bars and restaurants. I was only in San Sebastián for two days, so this location was perfect. The young woman who works in reception was one of the friendliest and kindest people I encountered in three weeks in Spain. Especially as a senior solo traveler, I really appreciated that.

Sercotel Codine is a hotel we have stayed in numerous times when we have visited San Sebastian, so this visit was no different. The hotel has a good location with bars and restaurants nearby and also close to the beach. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and I am sure we will be back in the future. Friendly, private hotel with personality, rather than a boring chain establishment. The location was perfect on the outskirts of San Sebastián and the 16 bus offered an excellent service right into the centre. We loved our balcony and the sea view. The hotel is part of a chain, and we have stayed at other hotels in their system elsewhere in Spain. It's a good twenty minute walk to the hear of the old city, but otherwise it was clean and efficient. The front desk staff spoke our language (English), and were happy to provide maps and call cabs and such. The restaurant was quite nice and the food good.
