Hotel Rural Victoria, hotel in La Orotava

The Hotel Rural Victoria is beautifully located between the sea and the mountains in Villa Monumental de La Orotava.

The hotel is in a wonderful location in this historical city. The staff were incredibly friendly. Everything was clean and lent itself to the theme of the town… Historical. The value for what we spent on the room was incredible. It's the best hotel we've stayed in so far in the Canary Islands. we do not do resorts. We do places like this. We've stayed in seven other places so far on this trip. This was the best! And don't miss the view from the rooftop terrace… Incredible!

Hotel Rural Orotava, hotel in La Orotava

Boasting beautiful original décor, this charming hotel is centrally set in the oldest villa in the town of Orotava, surrounded by mountain scenery.

The property was great. Very welcoming staff. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but they still reserved a table for us. The room was stunning. High ceilings, antique furnishings, and extremely comfortable bedding and mattress.

This place was large enough for two couples, with modern furniture, well equipped kitchen, clean towels and bed linen. Car park lot nearby, easy to find if one follow the instructions given. Fantastic view over El Teide peak.

    A historical town with character.

A historical town with character. Has a lot of good architecture and period villas. Walking around the city gets you back to 18th, 19th century. If you appreciate historic towns this one should not be skipped. Bonus: La Orotava is one of the 3 access points to mount Teide so if you plan to go up towards the mountain it's a good place to set a base at.

This little city is just a little gem: beautiful overall, colonial style architecture, well preserved, magnificent gardens, far from the noisy mass tourism, elegant, full of flowers, amazing vue. I've visited the city many times last year and with Puerto de la Cruz, I think is by far the nicest area on the island. I left in the early morning and I could smell the flowers fragances everywhere on the air.

Lovely old town from which to venture out across the north and northeast/northwest of the island. Visited in November and the climate was lovely for eating out in the various plazas and gardens of the town at night. Everything is on a slope so not ideal for the infirm but we felt safe and had no issues navigating about the city centre.

It was the perfect stop on the way to Teide national park.

It was the perfect stop on the way to Teide national park. Nice historic town - old grand houses / a good museum / a couple of gardens of interest, good views of the cost, a few good restaurants and a fun bar at the town centre / main square .. We ate at Dabeke a bit out of town but very good food and at Sabot Canario which was OK (limited menu but recommend the rabbit stew )... Gastro Lercaro looked very good but unfortunately it wasn't open for dinner while we were there ....

It is misleading to describe the Parador de Cañadas del Teide as "La Orotava". Although administratively correct (the hotel belongs to the La Orotava municipality) La Orotava is a small, very nice, city, certainly worth visiting, but the hotel is where it should be: in the middle of the national park, dozens of kilometers from the city. At the city: take a long, leasurely walk; enjoy the architecture, the pubs, the parks, the view, the food. At the hotel: be prepared for good hikes -smaller ones also available; study the paths beforehand and walk, walk, walk!

The villa has a big beautiful garden with pool, barbecue area and several opportunities to sit and relax. Kitchen ist well equipped so you can take care of yourself and the spacious dining and living room allow to spread out even in a bigger group of 6. Each bedroom has his own bathroom. Internet connection was fast and stable. The villa is in a small suburb of puerto de la cruz, halfway up the hill to la orotava, so it's quite a walk into town (~20 min) or to the next bus stop, therefore you need a rental car.

The house and garden with all their details were beautiful attractions in themselves and the atmosphere in the house was very different to any of our previous stays elsewhere. The hosts Laura and her mother were not only helpful but let us feel as if we and the other guests would be part of the family. The house and surroundings are very peaceful, but still practically in the middle of La Orotava. Views are great. Breakfast was good and – as everything in the house – esthetically served.

A very nice old house in La Orotava. The house is big, with two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, beatiful terrace, and most notably, a beatiful garden. We travelled a lot around Tenerife, into the east, the west, and most often to the Teide National Park. For this purpose, the location is ideal, because it is just in the center, so all important locations are easily reachable. The host is very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We felt like home.

Mary was an excellent host! She provided everything we needed for our beautiful studio apartment and the info she gave us for sights and restaurant recommendations were perfect. The studio is in the heart of Orotava, within walking distance of all major locations. We highly recommend it and we would definitely stay again if we ever return to Tenerife. Such a beautiful island and a fantastic apartment! Thank you, Mary!

Unique House in between wine yards with great view into the mountains and down to the sea. A lot of space to relax. Good starting point for tours into the mountains or the beach. Nice Restaurants around, not far to La Orotava, bus stop close by, rental car is of advantage. Join the stars while you bottle a good wine in front of the house. We had a good time with our kids in the wine yards.

If you want a visit to a North Tenerife village to see how folks live here, you have found the right place. Far enough from the tourist traps, you will live in a comfortable house with wonderful family history. El Teide is easy to reach on TF-24, and great restaurants and facilities are nearby. Dedicated parking for your car is available. We would return without hesitation.

Flat was very clean and had everything you need (many utensils). Each apartment has own parking space. You can use swimming pool anytime and the garden around the hotel is pretty relaxing. It is located in the suburbs of the town, in quiet area, so you need to drive to the older part or walk a bit.

The location of the hotel within the national park is brilliant. You can start hikes directly from there, after all the many people during day have left, it was also pretty quiet. Everything else was also pretty good, we enjoyed our stay there
