This mansion is located in La Orotava, 7 minutes' drive from the beaches and 30 minutes from Teide National Park. It offers an outdoor pool, sauna and large rooms with a satellite TV. The hire is just as beautiful as the photos! Our 4 year old said it was her favorite hotel of our holiday because it was like staying in a castle. The location is great for exploring the town with free parking at the door. We had an amazing sea view and super spacious room and bathroom. I had my doubts that this place was for kids but they were very accommodating and she had her own bed and we felt very welcome. The small garden is lovely and the small pool was cool but still nice to have.
Boasting beautiful original décor, this charming hotel is centrally set in the oldest villa in the town of Orotava, surrounded by mountain scenery. The location is amazing, like a jump back in time. Great care for details. Food is also a plus both at the restaurant and for breakfast. Staff is very kind and patient with our 4 years old son.
Featuring free WiFi, Apartments Finca El Rincón is located in La Orotava. Set next to Playa de los Patos Beach, this property offers apartments with a private terrace and outdoor furniture. We really loved this beautiful and peaceful property. Good location for traveling to major sights on the island. Great view from our apartment (#1). Apartment was well decorated and furnished, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We got a little lost on our way there and so phoned the owner, who quickly came to meet us and take us to the property.

Set in La Orotava, Casa Laura offers terrace, free WiFi, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage space. The apartment has city views and is 17 mi from La Laguna. The view both from the balcony and the roof was absolutely amazing! The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It's also very spacious. Very nice and tidy and the hosts had also left some maps and brochures for things to do which was very useful! It's on the old city side, so you can easily access nice traditional restaurants in beautiful buildings. There is also a grocery store right next to it, where you can find pretty much everything you need (despite the fact that it looks quite small from the outside). A few people have mentioned the lack of heating... that's true, there is no central heating, just a small electric heater in the sitting room. We were lucky with the weather though so it didn't affect us at all.
It is misleading to describe the Parador de Cañadas del Teide as "La Orotava". Although administratively correct (the hotel belongs to the La Orotava municipality) La Orotava is a small, very nice, city, certainly worth visiting, but the hotel is where it should be: in the middle of the national park, dozens of kilometers from the city. At the city: take a long, leasurely walk; enjoy the architecture, the pubs, the parks, the view, the food. At the hotel: be prepared for good hikes -smaller ones also available; study the paths beforehand and walk, walk, walk!
Romantic town with colonial architecture and beautiful view of the ocean, but also Teide. Many possibilities for food and drinks. Very worthy to spend day or two. However, call in advance to reserve in restaurants because (especially during weekend) might be busy.
A nice old town, with narrow streets, museums and restaurants. There is free car parking at the top end of the town, with a short walk into the town centre, but don't attempt to park elsewhere. Streets are very narrow and parking difficult. Driving through the town is also quite a challenge until you are used to it. Better head straight to the free car park and then walk. The town is not very large, so this is not a problem unless you are infirm or disabled (it is on a fairly steep hillside). We dined only once in La Orotava at Sabor Canario, Hotel Rural Orotava. There are a few other restaurants, but they don't open until 7.30 in the evening. It is not too far to drive down to the free and large harbourside car park in Puerto de la Cruz, which gives easy access to that seaside town. We dined in the fish restaurant on the harbour, which was very good for fresh fish, La Cofradia De Pescadores.
One of the most charming towns in north Tenerife. Absolutely gorgeous and the perfect base to explore this part of the island. Could not recommend the town highly enough. Car is essential to explore. Not good for people that don’t want to drive. Swimming difficult in winter months in the Atlantic so if you want a big beach holiday stay in the south. Undoubtedly the north is far more attractive...
A beautiful quaint town worth visiting if you like to explore when on holiday as it is home to some of the oldest buildings and friendliest people in the Canaries. A small number of boutique shops blend in to complete a nice visit for the wife.
Just a lovely place, especially the old part. Gardens in Liceo de Taoro and Jardín Victoria are beautiful. Very relaxing just strolling around all the little cobbled streets the the church of Immaculate Conception was outstanding.
We really loved this beautiful and peaceful property. Good location for traveling to major sights on the island. Great view from our apartment (#1). Villa 4 - Casa Dona Elena was a large villa with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a terrace to the rear and a few steps from the pool. The beds and furniture were comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained. The Finca is ideally situated, a short drive from both Puerto de la Crux and La Orotava, with easy access to the motorway.
The hotel was great, with great rooms in Canarian traditional style. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located at the very centre of the Orotava, so it is a great place to stay as a tourist in the North of Tenerife.
Amazing location! Amazing scenery! Awesome staff!
