The Parador de las Cañadas del Teide features an unbeatable location, next to a volcano in the stunning Teide National Park that covers the center of the island of Tenerife. The location was amazing. The food was really special with a good variety of local and international cuisine. The rooms were spacious and really comfortable.

Set in a restored 18th century house, Casa LULY is located in La Orotava. The country house features a private garden with a dining table and BBQ facilities. The best host, super cozy house and incredibly comfortable beds.
Lovely old town from which to venture out across the north and northeast/northwest of the island. Visited in November and the climate was lovely for eating out in the various plazas and gardens of the town at night. Everything is on a slope so not ideal for the infirm but we felt safe and had no issues navigating about the city centre.
It was the perfect stop on the way to Teide national park. Nice historic town - old grand houses / a good museum / a couple of gardens of interest, good views of the cost, a few good restaurants and a fun bar at the town centre / main square .. We ate at Dabeke a bit out of town but very good food and at Sabot Canario which was OK (limited menu but recommend the rabbit stew )... Gastro Lercaro looked very good but unfortunately it wasn't open for dinner while we were there ....
It is misleading to describe the Parador de Cañadas del Teide as "La Orotava". Although administratively correct (the hotel belongs to the La Orotava municipality) La Orotava is a small, very nice, city, certainly worth visiting, but the hotel is where it should be: in the middle of the national park, dozens of kilometers from the city. At the city: take a long, leasurely walk; enjoy the architecture, the pubs, the parks, the view, the food. At the hotel: be prepared for good hikes -smaller ones also available; study the paths beforehand and walk, walk, walk!
Romantic town with colonial architecture and beautiful view of the ocean, but also Teide. Many possibilities for food and drinks. Very worthy to spend day or two. However, call in advance to reserve in restaurants because (especially during weekend) might be busy.
A nice old town, with narrow streets, museums and restaurants. There is free car parking at the top end of the town, with a short walk into the town centre, but don't attempt to park elsewhere. Streets are very narrow and parking difficult. Driving through the town is also quite a challenge until you are used to it. Better head straight to the free car park and then walk. The town is not very large, so this is not a problem unless you are infirm or disabled (it is on a fairly steep hillside). We dined only once in La Orotava at Sabor Canario, Hotel Rural Orotava. There are a few other restaurants, but they don't open until 7.30 in the evening. It is not too far to drive down to the free and large harbourside car park in Puerto de la Cruz, which gives easy access to that seaside town. We dined in the fish restaurant on the harbour, which was very good for fresh fish, La Cofradia De Pescadores.
One of the most charming towns in north Tenerife. Absolutely gorgeous and the perfect base to explore this part of the island. Could not recommend the town highly enough. Car is essential to explore. Not good for people that don’t want to drive. Swimming difficult in winter months in the Atlantic so if you want a big beach holiday stay in the south. Undoubtedly the north is far more attractive...
The hire is just as beautiful as the photos! Our 4 year old said it was her favorite hotel of our holiday because it was like staying in a castle. The location is great for exploring the town with free parking at the door. We had an amazing sea view and super spacious room and bathroom. I had my doubts that this place was for kids but they were very accommodating and she had her own bed and we felt very welcome. The small garden is lovely and the small pool was cool but still nice to have.
La Orotava
A very nice old house in La Orotava. The house is big, with two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, beatiful terrace, and most notably, a beatiful garden. We travelled a lot around Tenerife, into the east, the west, and most often to the Teide National Park. For this purpose, the location is ideal, because it is just in the center, so all important locations are easily reachable. The host is very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We felt like home.
La Orotava
Really nice place. The appartment is beautiful and really functional, with all you need for cooking, sleeping, and resting on the rooftop terrasse ! The host is warmly welcoming and is available if needed. The situation of the flat is great, just in the middle of the nice old part of La Orotava. Lots of visits are available around and there are nice restaurants and places to have drinks just nearby.
La Orotava
If you want a visit to a North Tenerife village to see how folks live here, you have found the right place. Far enough from the tourist traps, you will live in a comfortable house with wonderful family history. El Teide is easy to reach on TF-24, and great restaurants and facilities are nearby. Dedicated parking for your car is available. We would return without hesitation.
La Orotava
Comfortable bed, great kitchen with all basic amenities, helpful stay who provided great recommendations and was prompt to respond. Terrific location relative to hiking address and other places to explore nearby. Close to groceries and walking distance to botanical garden, la Orotava, and more.
La Orotava
Super views down to the coast and inland to Mount Tiede. Nearby La Orotava is a very attractive town with a non-touristy atmosphere. Puerto del la Cruz with all of its facilities is just a short drive away.
The owner was waiting for us upon our arrival. So, perfect ! House has a nice view on the La Orotava valley and on the Teide. The view on the Teide in the morning is beautiful.
The hotel is located very close to all the nearby attractions (including hiking routes) and accessible by bus. The room was spacious and pretty, and the staff very helpful.
