Boulazac has commercial trading estates which are useful for accessing supermarkets and petrol stations but not for tourists unless the accommodation is found on the outskirts where there are quiet and tranquil residential areas and semi-rural locations to be enjoyed. It is, however, very close to Perigueux with its tourist attractions and gastronomic cuisine. It is also well placed for visiting the Dordogne and all of its attractions by car.LeslieUnited Kingdom

The reception area and lounge were superb. Sadly we had dinner planner otherwise we would have eaten here - but we were offered an amuse bouche with drinks which were great. The staff were so helpful and attentive. Breakfast was great - a large array of pastries, fruit, bread and then eggs cooked anyway we wanted.

It was nice to be able to cook our own food and to have a little space to ourselves. The weather was bad so I can't say we enjoyed the pingpong or any other amenities listed. But the shower was strong and hot and I got to see out over a foggy and rainy field from the window, which was nice. The owner/manager was really friendly, too.

The registration machine refused to accept my card or booking reference. It didn't give me my key number to stay in the room. I had to find other accommodation at 1am in the morning. I have stayed with the company before. I will need to be very desperate to stay again!
