Highest ski resort in France and one of the highest in Europe. I would recommend people who visit Alpes the first time to this resort. The price for skipass and accommodation will be much lower than Swiss or Austrian ski resort.

Busy resort. Lots to do, restaurants and shopping. Downside, expensive to eat / drink out.

The village is crowded, but still attractive to stay in.

We could choose whether to cook ourselves or going out for dinner. There are many restaurants and other eating facilities. Shops are available to buy your own vegetables and other necessities for cooking yourself.
You can choose to travel to Les Deux Alpes by public transport (combination of train and bus) or by car.

Loved the mountain biking trails.
Loved the mountain biking trails. Liked the artisan village of Venosc & the walk to the waterfall passing by goats on the way.
I took a day trip to La Barade. The scenery & flora were incredible. Well worth the trip! In the past I saw Chamois & Bouquetin but not this year.
Standard French Ski resort - everything is overpriced.
I really liked The Spot restaurant which serves excellent food at a reasonable cost.
Unfortunately the glacier was closed due to not enough snow. The mountains are a major construction site in summer time with a replacement Jandri Lift system being built. The Valley Blanche side was also full of bulldozers, diggers & earth moving equipment - adjusting the scenery some of it coming into contact with the trail systems. All bike trails above mid mountain were closed on the glacier side which meant that it was not possible to ride from the Glacier down to Venosc. One lift that needs an upgrade is the Mot de Lans chairlift which is pre-historic for Les 2 Alps. I would guess that this was to mitigate the risk of bikes & construction equipment coming into contact which is a safety consideration.
We enjoyed a swim in the semi-natural lake which was refreshing after a day on the trails. The luge was fun for a one-off run!
Plenty of things to amuse & if you have a multi-day lift ticket then you can use the lift pass at Alpe D'huez.

Great skiing and snowboarding for intermediates, if your a complete beginner you may want to come back when you have the hang of things. Lots of blue runs and some good red. Guaranteed snow is always a bonus, and the piste patrol keep an eye on everyone.
The toilet facilities on the mountain (especially on Le Crete, beginners area) were worse than the pits at a festival (yuk!) - LDA really need to sort this out, it stopped many people from eating in the area.
On the plus the town is a busy working town, lots of locals and tourists which gives it a great vibe. You can choose to grab a takeaway from one of the many on offer and have a cosy night in or you can party to 5am, but a big shout out to those who chose to party, they were very quiet on the way home, so very few disturbed nights.

The ski facilities are not well run.
The ski facilities are not well run. Long queues and a lot of lost time. A great deal of blue slopes makes the location more suitable to less experie nced skiers. Restaurants are typical. One cannot expect anything particular. They are ok.
Nothing except Les Deux Alpes. I was coming to 2 Alpes for the last 10+ years. It was the place from the dream. Since new management, my comments are, as well suggestion to future visitors. " The prices are up, quality is down, hospitality decreased".
In my opinion Booking.com shell reconsider what are they advertising (advertised is not what you get)? Absolutely unfriendly staff at rental place, to "hwy robbery" at ski lift ticket office and new regulation.
Jeremy (The owner) is a great host. He welcomed us very nicely and gave us a lot of info about the ski area and les deux alpes. I booked a lot of accomodations for my ski trips in the past and this one was by far the best we ever booked. Well equiped kitchen, comfy beds and a lot of space for 4-6 people.
The location is great, located near the slopes (3 min walk), supermarkets are very close,...
Overall a great accomodation!
The staff is amazing! We went to this hotel after we encountered a problem with a previous one. And the staff understood our situation and gave us a room at ~11AM, which was life saving for that ski day. Location is very good for skying, basically you just have to walk 20 meters, then take the small tunnel, then slide to Diable. Very good breakfast, big and clean room, spa/massage facilities
The owner/admin was super nice, got two sets of keys, the place had everything it needs and super comfy; instant hot water and a couple of heater bodies to dry clothes. It's at the 7th floor with an awesome view, located centrally in the resort; locker for skis/snowboard downstairs. Note that towels and sheets come for a fee. Overall 10/10 exceeded expectations at a reasonable price.
Third time staying at this property in the 3 bedroom (actually 4 bedroom) apartment, and loved it every time. Stayed for a skiing vacation - access to the slopes is great with the nearby run to chair lift, which you can also run down at the end of the day. Apartment is nice and cosy and spacious
Very cosy and homely apartment, warm and with a modern kitchen and everything needed for cooking. A short walk to the free bus stop, lots of nice restaurants nearby and for beginners for ski the free ski magic carpets. A lovely friendly welcome from Stefani, we would like to return.
wonderful location for this small hotel in the middle of the mountains and walking distance from the village center. Nice heated swimming pool, nice terrasse and comfortable family room, everything you need for a nice holiday in a wonderful place is here.
Central location, although most slopes are on the other side of the village, I e 10 min walk to the ski lift. PRIVATE GARAGE is hard to undervalue. Parking in the street is horrible, and sometimes you’ll need a snow shovel to get into your car.
It is so central for access to buy passes, the Jandri Express, the ski hire and the shops. We arrived in the village, parked the car and didn’t look at it until leaving at the end of our stay. Also superb views of the mountains.
The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel were fantastic and there are a number of ski hire places nearby and chairlift up to the Cretes area,
Apartment is really good equiped, clean and on the perfect position to reach the ski slopes and lifts. Communication with landlord is simple and he responds quickly. Perfect for a family with one child. Recommend.
Lovely rustic hotel. Warm and welcoming. Absolutely awesome dinners (half board - set menu), and great breakfast.
We also had massage treatments which were much needed after the skiing and left us revitalised.
Great location, you are opposite the main pubs and near 2 lifts and bakeries it was great! Big balcony which was nice and for a mid budget ski apartment it was spacious.
