Set in the Alpe d'Huez ski resort, Le Pic Blanc offers accommodations with an indoor swimming pool and a Pure Altitude Spa including a hot tub, sauna and hammam, available at an extra cost. Everything - but the personel was just OUSTANDING. I travelled with my disabled wife and it was just heartwarming to see how helpful, friendly an empathatical EVERYBODY was. Especially the housekeeping-, spa-& breakfast-personal! Never experienced something like this in 1000+ hotels in the past. Thank you!!

On average, 3-star hotels in L'Alpe-d'Huez cost $92 per night, and 4-star hotels in L'Alpe-d'Huez are $0 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in L'Alpe-d'Huez can be found for $167 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
I've visited a lot of resorts and believe Alpe d'Huez is the most convenient for easy access to the slopes and has the best combination of varied pistes and off-piste skiing. It suits all ability levels. Groups with non-skiers would probably prefer a more traditional resort as the beauty of the area is more obvious when out on the slopes - especially the off-piste. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants and the bus service is free with a lift pass. We stayed in an apartment complex with a pool and sauna. But the resort does have an outdoor and indoor swimming pool as well as an ice rink. If you're unlucky enough to have an accident skiing then I can personally testify to the efficiency of the pisteurs and helicopter rescue service. It was 1,003 Euros to be airlifted from the bottom of the Sarenne. So, insurance is a must!
Will definitrly revisit this resort with a group of friends as there is a good party atmosphere in the mountains . Smithy’s is a great restaurant in the village run by English, Mexican style food. Signal bar was the best restaurant on the mountain as well as Folie Douce.
Great ski resort, particularly for beginners as lots of green and blue runs. Access to surrounding villages was good and added variety to your runs. Great restaurants and not too expensive compared with other resorts. Lots of ski hire places and ski schools.
Slopes are graded differently to elsewhere. The green runs were more like blue, and the blues like reds. Moguls formed on all steep sections by midday, I'm not sure of this was because of the volume of people skiing during half term week, or if it is always like this. If you cant ski moguls, go elsewhere ! Plenty of lifts to choose from and queues were not too bad. However, not an extensive ski area if you're sating for a week. Book evening meals in advance as the restaurants can get busy. Expect to pay between 20 - 30 euros per main dish. However there's a Thai takeaway a pizza takeaway and a burger bar which does amazingly tasty, huge burgers.
Alpe du Huez is a high quality medium sized French resort. Lots of excellent ski-ing and facilities. If you are the kind of skier who never wants to ski the same run twice over the course of a week then Alpe du Huez is probably not for you, but it's a much friendlier and easy going place than the more agressive mega resorts. And fewer emarassing posh sounding British people.
Good ski resort, if you have good weather and snow. Study the trail maps, there are plenty of good trails distributed through al the mountain and villages. 2.5 days is not enough to explore it all. Great restaurants and bars everywhere.
Despite having called us a week in advance to enquire about our arrival time, the apartment was not ready. Why then call? The apartment is apparently superficial cleaned with an enormous amount of dust in the bathroom, on top/behind/below furniture etc. Being a spa hotel, it was surprising that it was charging additionally for simple bathrobes. And the staff did not seem to have the faintest idea of the area they were serving (the address of the hotel itself, the opening hours and locations of ski pass offices, just to name a few).
Hotel Daria is positioned perfectly for the ski-slopes. The ski-room is excellent and the staff there are very helpful. It is expensive but it is very convenient to hire skis and boots. The hotel pool and spa are good and it is really nice to be able to relax at the end of the day in the sauna and pool. The rooms are ok but the quality is not high. The staff at the hotel are very helpful in particular the restaurant managers and waiting staff.
Rooms were great, heated outdoor pool was a bonus, quiet and comfortable apartment. However, the Wifi in the room was slow and not up to much. I asked the hotel to check, and they said this was the standard in all rooms. Only one person could log on and was temperamental, couldn't stream any music or video. Just about good enough to check email but frustrating, so bear this in mind if you need good connectivity whilst on holiday.
The decor of the hotel from the lobby, to the rooms and lighting and the breakfast buffet including the plates and glasses used was really cool. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel; wide selection and the pastries were so fresh. Convenient paid parking but the valet service was a nice touch. And when I wanted my car, it was retrieved immediately.
Great 3rd generation family hotel. Nice to watch their children go to school while we're heading to the slopes. The view is great! The ski shop in the same building makes it extremely convenient. Excellent equipment, good prices. (Alain Sport) Loved the atmosphere. The owners are very nice and helpful, agreed for late check out in the evening after ski day.
I made a request for a particular room and the hotel were straight on it and didn't disappoint. They took real pleasure in welcoming us and doing anything they could to assist us from general loveliness to helpful advice. We drove from England. Parking was brilliant. Total peace of mind.
We stayed here one night at the end of a week long cycling tour. The location is excellent for cyclists, as it's right across from the official Tour de France stage finish. It's a basic hotel that could use some attention, but works fine for its price range and location. Very nice view.
we were there for the Tour de France. the location of the hotel was perfect for that. the hotel typically caters to families and has good ski storage. the service was excellent and the food was Good as well.
Great location. Near many restaurants. Ski in. 50 meters to ski lift for ski out. Near an hotel with SPA facilities.
Hotel location very good, easy access to shopping center. Small bed and no housekeeping.
