Bed super comfortable. Gave us a folding cot for our daughter. Coffee maker in room, Clarins amenities in bath. Small gym upstairs. Booking.com rate was 30% off.

The hotel is really close to the Versailles Palace and the train station, barely 8min walk. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is cheap and it's totally worth it because they offer a big variety of options to eat. The room is comfortable as well.

The palace was beautiful but I enjoyed the gardens and the Grand and Petit Trianon the most. Spent almost 6 hours there in total. But don't skip the town itself as it has really nice architecture, cute cobbled streets and many shops and restaurants.

I am assuming that most people travelling to Versailles are going for the Palaces and gardens. The grandeur and scale of the palaces is immense, the sense of history, excess and wealth really hits you. Having said that, you will be doing a lot of queing and you will be shuffling from room to room with 1000's of other people poking their cameras and phones into your space.

We loved Versailles plenty of cafe's, bars and restaurants to chose from at
affordable prices, if you just fancy a light lunch wonderful deli offering
excellent selection. Small Carrefour and other grocery stores easily accessible. We found it very easy to get around Versailles we had a 2 day pass for the Chateau and gardens and it was amazing. After reading reviews before we planned our trip we pre - booked our tickets for the earliest time possible as it can get very busy, it worked just fine we visited on Wednesday and again on Thursday.

I have been twice before over the years, It's a very expensive suburb of Paris now and an interesting town which revolves around the Chateau. The Chateau is a place you must visit once in your life at least, and allow a full day or more as the grounds are huge. It's a commercial tourist trap, long queues and not enough people selling tickets though all staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have bought online but couldn't fathom the headset guide, you could add it then it disappeared at checkout. Turns out you can't and don't need to pre-order, they are available after ticket check at a desk in the entrance, no queue. You can buy tickets from Tourist Information (they have an allocation) to beat the queues. Don't take a very expensive tour, the audio gives the same information and there are plenty of signs to stop you getting lost. Fantastic place but more or less just a portrait gallery and heaven for lovers of architecture. Just stand there and wonder at the scale, opulence and grandeur of the place. Not much catering, just essentials but the catering staff will refill a water bottle for you free if you ask nicely (a bit of French is handy). Be prepared to get your elbows out as although access is limited there are a lot of people inside, be prepared to wait for pictures and be tolerant of the bored and ignorant being dragged around! Book one of the local hotels, we used the Ibis, a 5 minute walk and used a restaurant on Rue de Satory which has a good selection and just outside the gates.

Fantastic trip.
Fantastic trip. It had been on my bucket list for a long time and did not disappoint. Mercure hôtel exceptionally welcoming. Excellent breakfast.
Would definitely recommend.
The palace is of course the main reason to go to Versailles but I don’t advise visiting the inside on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters and at time uncomfortably so.
But hey ho! I loved it all. Enjoy your trip…

Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors.
Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors. No taxi service, The train tour of the palace is a rip off. They make you stand in the hot sun while the entire crew of drivers take a long break for lunch. If you get off there is a long wait time before you can get a spot on another train. Large tour groups block passage to many exhibits. Signage throughout the gardens and some displays is very poor and non existent in many places. A real disappointment. The hotel staff and restaurants were all good and made our time spent with them very enjoyable.
We have been staying at this hotel for over 10 years for both working and touristic visits. Location is brilliant! Few (5-7) minutes by foot to nearest train station with direct access to Paris. A lot of restaurants and cafes around the Market place are next to the door. 20 minutes by foot to Chateau Versailles and park. Open area parking lot in the inner courtyard is closed securely during the night and makes this property exceptionally attractable for guests with car. Very friendly staff.
We had a standard room, which is very small. The bathroom is even smaller, but we had good water pressure. The bed was large and comfortable, and the airconditioning worked very well. The breakfast was good, and reasonably priced. We were within a short walk to the train station, and a short walk to Versailles palace, which made this hotel very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we found the map they give out very helpful as well.
The staff welcomed us Ann gave us a tour of the apartment. She went out of her way to explain to us the operation of the tv remotes. It was our problem and she came to re-explain things to us. Again it was user error on our part. Also, she lent us her own umbrella when we needed one because of the rain. It was ideally situated being 3 blocks from the train station and a 7-8 minute walk to The Palace of Versailles.
Working for the US government I make it a point to stay at your facility in Versailles, despite having to travel quite a distance to get to our Headquarters/Office at Capital 8, 32 Rue de Monceau, 75008 Paris. This time I came with my family.
Enjoyed everything, room, comfy bed, b'fast as well as the bar and proximity to various Restaurants, stores etc.
This listing is a scam and the company took my money and gave me wrong check-in information. I was left at 2:00am in Versailles (no one around) trying to enter the apartment with no correct instructions, after a while I received a message from them asking me to book another hotel and they still charged me in full even though I did not stay there.
Adjoining rooms were spacious. High ceilings and grandeur.
Location was perfectly located next to the park that leads to Versailles Palace and gardens. This is spectacular.
The hotel was advertised as pet friendly and we had two pets with us. The hotel made them welcome.
Would definitely return to this hotel.
This is a marvelous hotel that is within easy walking distance of both the train station from Paris and the Palace of Versailles. Our room and the breakfast were so nice! And we have to give a special compliment to David at the front desk. He is an exceptional ambassador for the hotel. Thank you for making our stay so nice!
The location of this hotel was excellent and just a very short walk from the Palace of Versailles. The general look of the place was also excellent. The staff were very friendly. However, there were a couple of things that were poor, and spoiled what would otherwise have been a very good stay (see below).
The location was very nice. It is close to one of the entrances to the Versailles Palace.
The underground parking was spacious enough and relatively easy to access.
The double extended sofa bed was good for the kids (9yo &6yo).
The room was well cleaned.
The hotel was in general well maintained.
The location of this hotel is excellent if you are visiting the Palace of Versailles. It is also close to many restaurants, so your food choices are great.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even let my family store our bags while we visited the Palace after our stay.
The host was gracious and friendly, giving me a tour of the premise that was clear and concise. Early check-in was flexibly given subject to the actual situation, which was a big plus. The premise had so much space and many facilities for you to feel home away from home at Versailles.
The Hotel is well placed between the Versailles palace and the town. It has a parking for guests and one can find restaurants and convenience stores nearby.
The rooms are quiet and comfortable, the staff friendly and in my opinion it is a solid choice for staying in Versailles.
Excellent location, in a quiet neighborhood with many amenities and shops, only a few blocks from the Palace of Versailles. The manager was friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
What a gem. Lovely staff, very clean and centrally located. Versailles as a place to stay (rather than running back to Paris) is a brilliant idea - the hotel, city and people were a delight.
Okay this hotel was a bit tired by hey we are in the middle of Versailles, the parking was good and we could walk to the main event - the palace. The hotel was easy access.
Very well located hotel, so close to Versailles. Convenient parking underneath the hotel you can access from the elevator. Small room. Good rain shower. Decent sized TV.
Pleasant hotel, located within walkable distance from the Palace Versailles. Staff service was pleasant and they made efforts to accomodate our requests.
Clean and close to Versailles Chateau. Direct train to Paris centre. Plenty of restaurants close by. Street parking in front of hotel for a decent price.
