La Renaudière

Great location near to Chenenceau chateau. Near to the lovely Cher River.

Interesting house, very well maintained. Has a very lovely garden sunny and quiet. Good breakfast. Walkable to the chateau and easy access to other Loire chateaux via the back roads. very quiet.

A shower rather than a shower unit over the bath would be preferable.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and had a lot better English than my French! The room was basic but clean and comfortabl. There was enough in the town for basics and was handy to other towns nearby, although you would probably want to have a car as trains were expensive and not frequent, otherwise staying in Tours or Amboise would be easier for doing stuff in the area.

The hotel is a remodel of an old, smaller Chateau. It had a wonderful atmosphere and the room was clean and comfortable. Although not a lot of atmosphere in the room itself, it was quiet and adequate. If you were traveling with another couple you could request a "suite" where you have 2 hotel rooms off of a small room with a table and 4 chairs for using the computer or playing cards etc. The breakfast was a good value and served in a lovely room overlooking the spacious yard. They have ample parking available. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the center of Chenonceaux and the Chateau de Chenonceaux. They do serve dinner but we did not eat dinner in the hotel..just breakfast. We spent 3 nights there and would stay again if we are fortunate enough to return to the Loire Valley. If you want to experience staying in a mini Chateau at a reasonable rate I would recommend La Renaudiere. The owner, Isabelle, was cheery but not intrusive. They are still in the process of remodeling the out buildings and they are doing a wonderful job. The main building from what we could see is finished and we stayed on the third floor. It has just the right amount of "old world charm". The grounds in the back have tables with umbrellas and we were hoping to relax there but as usual ran out of time. It is a charming place to stay. Did I mention "quiet"?

The hotel does not have an elevator so if you have trouble with stairs it may pose a problem. They do however offer luggage service at a small fee. We did not have a problem taking our luggage to our third floor room as we are in good physical condition. I would not let this deter you from staying here..pay the fee if necessary.

The receptionist was not friendly.The room we were allocated was on the second floor up 43 stairs! We are both in our seventies and were exhausted just taking up our bags. We never saw the rest of the hotel as it would have meant another trip down the stairs. The room was quite bare and the plumbing was poor. We were really annoyed to see a notice in the room banning eating or drinking in the room and,if it was found that we had contravened this instruction,we would be charged 15 Euros. Also banned was taking photos of the room, the building and the grounds! Future guests should be made aware of these conditions before booking.

Excellent and chatming staff

The hotel has plenty of character and an excellent garden.

I did not find the staff the most welcoming, but this might be down to me not speaking French. The layout of the room was not very good and could do with some investment. We stayed there enroute to Spain. We originally intended to stay in Amboise but could not get a room with any car parking. We had visited the magnificent chateau at Chenonceaux three years ago so thought the village would be a good alternative. The town had less to offer than I had imagined and I felt it relied too heavily on visitors to the Chateau.

We've been coming to you for 9 years on our way south and have always enjoyed our stay. We will be coming again next year all being well

Perhaps the Wine prices are a little high

This hotel is located across the street from the famous Chenonceaux castle property. We were able to fit in a tour to the castle in the late afternoon after we arrived. There was an above-ground swimming pool. The room is very spacious.

Slightly dilapidated but charming, fantastic hosts, very good for small children. Food is great.

Authentic House, with charactere and peace, an invitation to relaxed sitting in the park or the comfy bedroom after a touristy day: lovely setting and perfect location for a trip through the Loire Valley. Doesn't feel like a hotel, I will go back.

A comfortable travel in time, a romantic atmosphere

A little bit old furniture and decoration but functional, was OK afterall, the theme is a more than 200 years old manoir

The Madame in charge of the hotel was very unfriendly. Do not expect a welcome !

Beautiful grounds and a lovely building. Very friendly staff. Good internet connection in the rooms. Beautiful views out both sides. Shower was fine once we figured out that we had to turn it off between rinses to let it warm up.

The decor was a bit dated, but it wouldn't put us off staying there again. It would have been nice to have air conditioning, as the rooms got quite hot. Twin beds in the family room were not very comfortable.

Good value hotel close to Chateau Chenonceaux

A localizacao e' otima, a poucos passos do Castelo de Chenonceau. Joel Camus e Isabela sao pessoas muito solicitas e agradaveis. O restaurante do hotel e' muito bom. O estacionamento gratuito no local tambem e' um diferencial interessante.

Infelizmente o quarto em que ficamos nao fazia parte do casarao e sim de uma area externa, o que perdia um pouco do glamour da estadia, mas era a unica alternativa acessivel a cadeirante no hotel.

Idealer Ausgangspunkt für eine Besichtigung der Loire - Schlösser. Sehr nette, unaufdringliche Besitzer

la déco des chambres est très très vieillotte et pas du tout harmonieuse (tableaux en caneva, vieille moquette pas très propre, lino SDB tout taché), pas un vrai lit dans la chambre familiale (lit pliant)

Очень хороший ресторан, но завтрак скудноват. В комнатах вся мебель старинная, потому присутствует запах старого дома, но к нему привыкаешь быстро, в ванной нет фена. Доброжелательные хозяева.
