Morzine is in a constant state of improvement.
Morzine is in a constant state of improvement. Lots of buidings being updated or replaced. Ski lIfts are regularly updated. Good Apres-Ski. Some good restaurants. A great place to say - lots of variety of shops and bars. Always enjoy the cavenbar and some of the food was fabulous. Morzine seems to be the central village of thé Portes du Soleil. The restaurants and shops are plentiful and quite good. The ski area is not too extensive but the options are to branch out east or west for a more extensive experience. I absolutely loved Morzine.
I absolutely loved Morzine. It has quite a bad reputation for pretty poor skiing however, most days we were there it was great and you can get a bus or gondola up to Avoriaz which is super easy and quick! The food was a standout for us, nearly every restaurant we dined in was exceptional and pretty good value. La Chaudanne and La Grange were two highlights for us! It's very easy to get around with the free buses but I wish the C bus was a little more regular and the app could show you which direction the bus was going in. The sunshine was not bad either! The chalet is well-positioned for the Prodains lift, it is about 1 minute on the shuttle. The chalet is spacious and well-appointed, we did not have a problem to fit in 9 people and a dog. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (2, 4, 3) and a basement for the really naughty people ;-). Francoise and Cedric were fantastic hosts and we were given a free room upgrade without asking, they really couldn’t have done more for us throughout our stay. The breakfast selection is excellent, the lounge areas are warm and comfortable and the location is perfect between the Pleney and Super Morzine lifts and close to great bars and restaurants. Great location right by Intersport for ski hire and the Super Morzine lift. There is also a bus to Avoriaz which is around a 3 minute walk from the property. The host was also super helpful.
