Everything! The proprietors were charming, the hotel decor tasteful, and the location was on point. You are steps away from a street with a multitude of restaurant options offering outside seating, a grocery store and Laundromat. The hotel can easily be reached from the train station on foot. I wholeheartedly recommend making the Hotel du Cygne your primary location, and opt to easily day trip to the neighboring Chateaux by train. They also welcome dogs.

Tours is a nice walkable city. The 'old town' is picturesque and the more modern side has lots of shops. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are lots of tourist attractions including gthe cathedral of course. Also there is a large tourist office with helpful staff to help organise day trips to Chateaus etc. Transport links are very good with a station close to the city centre.

It was very easy to find the hotel, even though it was in the middle of the city. The hotel sent directions in advance of adjacent underground parking which was a real help.
We recommend La Plume Blanche in the Place Plumereau

Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out...
Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out along the Loire river. The trams and busses are easy enough to figure out. The brochures describe the 'gastronomic' experience that awaits, but that must apparently be researched and booked in advance. Strolling around the old medieval streets without a booking, we found more kebab shops and bars than gourmet restaurants, but perhaps we were in the wrong place.

Tours was a wonderful city with a lively night life, historic sites and lots of high quality wine and food at every turn. There was very little car traffic in many parts of the old city, so walking around, is great. I’d love to go back and explore more.

I choose Tours as a base camp for exxploring the Loire...
I choose Tours as a base camp for exxploring the Loire valley up and down by train and bike. This did work out, just beware of the train schedule. It is very sparse except on weekends. Tours itself turned out to be more attractive than I had expected.
this is on par with 5 star luxury hotels. the room is massive, spotless, gorgeous decor and wonderful linens, the location is central, and there is nothing that could be improved. great for solo travelers or couples. what a value, she could charge twice the price and it would still be a steal. I am serious when I say that you could just visit this b&b and it alone would be a fabulous experience.
This is an economical, convenient hotel I have stayed in before and would stay in again. As it is on the outskirts of Tours it is best when you need somewhere straightforward to sleep when travelling, rather than for tourism. The staff are polite and helpful. It's no frills, simple and clean. Rooms are well sound-proofed; I know that the room next door was occupied but never heard anyone.
Excellent front desk service! Luna and the other front desk lady were both very helpful. They were able to book me a shuttle bus so I can visit Villandry. I am super impressed with their kindness and helpfulness! The room is very beautiful and clean! The hotel is steps away from Gare de Tours train station. Will definitely come back and will highly recommend to others!
Jean-Paul was very gracious to provide breakfast items (bread, jams, juices) and snacks for our 4 days stay. Kitchen was well equipped. The location was walking distance to the Gare de Tours, bus station, tourism office and good restaurants around, especially the Thai restaurant Isaan just down the street.
The owners were very friendly and most helpful with advice.
Fabulous location just a short walk across bridge to city centre.
If you are looking for a few nights stay in Tours in a hotel which is clean, has onsite secure parking, with excellent hosts at a good rate price, this is the place to stay.
the appartment is fit for family trip, there are what we need in the kitchen, the host provided us things for our baby (less than 6 months old), such as a chair, a bathtub, a bed which we didn't use because the baby slept with me on the big bed. it was a good experience in Tours.
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. Everything was just perfect. The location and access are great. Breakfast and services were outstanding. The room was very convinient and quiet. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was one of the best we had on our trip. Highly recommended.
it was much cleaner, and had more facilities, than comparably priced hotels and hostels. staff was very friendly and pointed us to the best places to visit in the area. comes with wifi and even a desk fan in the room, which is perfect for summer stays! :D
Very friendly, welcoming staff; cute room. The hotel is a quick drive easy walk from the train station and city centre. It was a shared
shower but the room had its own private 2-piece powder room, so that was great.
Location of this hotel absolutely best. Just beside a supermarket, river side and close to the centre to name a few. There is a standing fan available in the apartments. All in all a comfy stay.
I have regularly used the cheaper hotels on my journeys in France and I think this has been the best so far. It was worth paying a little more for the more comfortable room.
We were looking for an affordable stay in Tours and this seemed like the best option. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, and conveniently close to a bus stop.
