Tours is a fantastic place to visit.
Tours is a fantastic place to visit. Plenty of amazing places to eat and walking and travelling around the city is great. We've been before and stayed outside of the main area and commuted by the trams. This time we stayed more central and found it was easy to walk from our accommodation to the heart of the city. We ate at a Brasserie just round the corner from Place Plumerau. Meal was brilliant and we had cocktails and wine. All very well priced at 68 euros for two.
We went on after for a stroll around the shops and ended up at Place Plumeau where there were lots of people out enjoying drinks in the square - so we joined them!

I wasn't aware this was a college town, so it wasn't the ambiance I expected. Overall, the stay was good, and we stayed there to catch tours to the castles which were about an hour away. The small street train was a delightful tour of the town.

There are several historic sights in the Old Town starting with the beautiful train station. The Cathedral and Basilica are worth visiting. The long street of eateries had a wide variety to choose from due to the high student population. I was in the mood for Asian food and I found a Malaysian restaurant. But there were classical French restaurants and many other choices too. There's also a lovely place to sit and drink something on the Loire.

Relaxing town, but also very vibrant in the evening and at night. Has a lot of niche restaurants in and around different areas of the town.
Fairly easy to navigate around the town, can always join a few tours that are available that show parts of the town you otherwise wouldnt have seen. Worst part of travelling is the ticket system, we got stuck on the other side of tours as we only got a one way ticket on the bus and they didnt have ticket machines at the bus stops away from the main ones. They should really change it to contactless.
Botanical gardens was a pleasant experience, worth a visit at least once. A lot of gorgeous towns just outside of tours that are also worth checking out, Amboise being one of them. Has a beautiful chateaux and Da Vinci manor/gardens that are a must see.
The hotel is very close to the train and bus station in Tours, so it is ideal for those who arrive by these means of transport. There is a big underground parking if you arrive at the town by car. The historic city centre is approx. a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The room was simple and the breakfast was classic French breakfast. The staff was very kind.
Hôtel kept to Covid care. Hand solution at many points within the hotel. Breakfast was very good. Choice excellent. We will be back. And do recommend to others. Hôtel position easy to find on the exterior of main city of Tours. Other guests have said restaurant choice near by is good, and this is very correct. We just walked next door.
It was in a lovely area with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. I thought that the Bamiyan in rue du Commerce had the best food in France.
The room was lovely, with a window looking out at old buildings. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotless.
The lady who manages the hotel was lovely. I enjoyed my stay here.
The hotel was located well for a stop over on the way to Spain, rooms are clean & modern and are quite sufficent for a 1 maybe 2 night stay. We were travelling with a dog so dog friendly was a bonus too. Free parking 👍
