They looked after us, were kind, considerate and very helpful. The room it’s self felt like a home away from home, comfy and breakfast was an absolute treat each morning.

Dumfries was supposed to be a one night stop over before continuing with my trip. however i decided to spend a day in Dunfries to rest. nothing in the town really. a couple decent shops, some pubs. food selection is poor aside from The Cavern or Caverns. seems like the town is well passed its better days and is now kinda poor and dumpy. Plenty of Turkish barbers however (how a town as small as Dunfries can support the number of barbershops is beyond me). People were friendly. I had good experiences with the proprietors of the two hotels where i stayed, The White Hart Hotel and the Aberdour Guest House and i recommend them both.Guest review byGuiliani - 8.0

Plenty of places to eat - went to Granary (Belhaven, Green King) twice and Bruno's (Italian) once. River running through Dumfries is great. Lots of places nearby to visit - I went to Caerlaverock Castle, RSPB Mersehead, Threave House & Gardens. Good train service to Carlisle and beyond (and great cafe at station). We stayed in Moffat which is in the county of Dumfriesshire. A great place to visit and close to the town of Dumfries. Dumfries was a lot larger than I expected.
Dumfries was a lot larger than I expected. We were only there for one night. We did a mini pub crawl with friends. There are some interesting pubs in Dumfries with a lot of history and stories to tell. We stayed at a beautiful BnB and caught the train to Glasgow the next morning.
