The location was absolutely perfect for us, it was also such a beautiful sight with wonderful views. The owners went above and beyond and was all such lovely people. We loved the animals, we loved the pre made tent we had, it was comfy and clean and had the essentials to get us started, which was a kettle, plates, cups etc.

Loved the cosy cabin with its unique decor and intriguing interior and we really enjoyed the outdoor space with log burner. We spent two nights toasting marshmallows, chatting and playing cards late into the night. Beautiful views and walking. What a lovely place to wake up on my 50th birthday! The animals were friendly and made our trip unforgettable. From here we had a day in St Albans and a day at Hatfield House. Perfect location all round.

Amazing historical cottage with lots of strange and interesting things in it. The main attraction is the age and the timber frames that originated from 1654. There was plenty of essentials such as loo roll, cleaning items and tea, coffee and sugar. The tv as well supplied with channels although we didnt use it very much as out exploring.

    make sure you ask for the newer rooms as the old ones are not nice in anyway would not stay again unless I got one of the more modernised rooms like last visit, did not know there was such a difference in rooms or would not have stayed there.

    A historic town with many scenic walks, a good vibe and welcoming feel. Lots of places to eat and drink. We enjoyed our stay. The castle and gardens are free. There are a number of historic churches - St Leonard’s being very ancient Saxon/Norman. The town flat and full of rivers - with some pretty river walks. Pangshanger reserve was really well presented and quite accessible.

    Excellent location and accommodation, friendly owner...

    Excellent location and accommodation, friendly owner ensuring we were happy with the accommodation and WiFi and games room available. The accommodation was very clean and homely, access to free Netflix and very warm throughout. If in area we would return, excellent for the price.

    It's full of great restaurants and pubs/bars.

    It's full of great restaurants and pubs/bars. There's an excellent theatre/cinema called Beam. It's situated on three rivers and on the old coaching route between London and Cambridge so the environment and architecture are beautiful and historic so well worth exploring. There's even a castle where Elizabeth I visited. Plus a great leisure centre and Hartham Park. If you like nightlife - that's also great with clubs, bars, a Pool club and friendly pubs.

    It was beautiful enough to make you think you was away far away, the views were amazing and to have the animals walking around just made it. The shops are close too! Highly recommend carlys fish shop, absolutely spot on.

    Location and room very Good. DId not have breakfast as personally having paid over £100 for the room, was not going to pay another £30.00 for two breakfasts as we would only have wanted a bowl of porridge. But that is just our personal view and not really a criticism of the very nice hotel. Thank you
