Had a club room overlooking the canal. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Food in main dining room very good although portions of side dishes were too large. Service excellent. Reception and dining room staff all very helpful, pleasant and friendly.
Bar food acceptable but not hot enough. Condiments were empty and not particularly clean. Football featured in this bar which attracted a lot of beer swilling males. Not the most pleasant place to eat a meal.
Eco friendly initiative with the new individually cooked breakfasts on weekdays - less waste, fresher food, win/win!
Nothing not to like
The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was adequate and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the swimming pool was lovely and clean. If we went to Chester again we would definitely stay there again. Altogether a very enjoyable break.
Good parking. Good breakfast. Good bar and restaurant. Well priced.
Excellent location, good friendly staff, good value, good quality food in restaurant for evening meal.
Location Easy Parking
Outside bit noisy at night.
I need a gluten free diet and this was dealt with easily and conveniently
Everything was ok
Good Atmosphere, good service
our room was small which could be a problem for some, other rooms are bigger
Good value for money and great central location. Nice pool.
Bit warm and stuffy in room as a lot of hotels are because you can't open window much.
The hotel was very central.very clean.loved the spa area..
A bit noisy until almost 1am so didn't sleep too well
Really liked the bar area that did really good light meals at really good prices the location was lovely
Very well run hotel, bar and restaurant prices very reasonable. excellent pool and leisure facilities.Option to have a meal on the canal on hotels own barge.
Bed very soft and pillows not great but for a couple of nights,it was ok.
Location good Breakfast good. Did not use leisure facilities so can't comment.
The heat. It was terribly hot. Even with the window open the room was far too hot. The area for breakfast was far too hot and so made the stay uncomfortable. Also the toilet paper was poor - single sheets like a public toilet.
EVERYTHING, WE HAD A FAB WEEKEND. EVERYONE WAS HELPFUL, POLITE AND COULD.NT DO ENOUGH TO MAKE OUR STAY GREAT MANY THANKS TO YOU ALL AND WE WILL RETURN.
The hotel is in an excellent location. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast. Absolute value for money.
Everything there for enjoyable stay
Good location, comfortable bed, clean room, helpful friendly staff. Food very good.
Hotel and facilities good.
Difficult to find, limited parking. Geared up for coach tours.
The noise from the traffic. The upgraded room, which we paid extra for, was level with the dual carriage way road a few feet from the window. It was a family room, but no seats to sit on. The next night we were upgraded to a better room, but still backing on to the motorway, but further away.
Very friendly and helpful staff in all departments went of their way to make you feel valued and wanted you to enjoy your time there
The profiteroles were not up to Mary Berry's standard - they were very disappointing as they were soft! Some of the decor of the building needs maintaining better.
I thought the bar staff were very attentive and extremely courteous during our stay...the only complaint was the hhousekeeping staff didn't knock before entering room otherwise an excellent experience and would recommend to friends.
As stated above but only minor.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. The Location The bar - The choice of beer and whiskey was excellent and good value. The breakfast This close to major road it was surprisingly quiet. The beds were very comfortable
Dinner was expensive Room was small and a bit tired Bathrooms were small but the showers were powerful and hot. The car park - very tight parking spaces.
The staff were well trained and very efficient. We liked the service at the check in especially liked Jayne who booked us in very helpful and interested in us We liked the room quite small but on a wet autumn night that was good. Very warm and cosy. We liked the towels lovely and thick and fluffy We liked that there were lots to do in the hotel although we didn't use any of the facilities, we could have. The real ale bar was nice and not small as we thought it would be from the reviews It is an easy walk from the station to get to it
Didn't like that we had to walk back to the hotel along the canal which was very dark and a bit scary. We were on one bank of the canal and had to cross a bridge to get down and out into Chester, OK going out but not OK coming back in the dark Wwe were told the doors are locked on the Chester side at 9.30pm meaning a long dark canal walk back
Staff excellent. Food good and affordable.
Car park not big enough. Arriving late from work it was difficult to find a space.
Friendly atmosphere in the hotel and helpful with things to do and places to visit. Food excellent and really enjoyed dinner cruise. We stopped hereon rroute to see family in the South and had a couple of days break.
Can't think of anything! Maybe room a bit warm but we opened a window.
