The most comfortable bed in any hotel weve slept in . Nice swimming pool .great bar food .decent bar and prices .

This hotel needs a makeover . Tired decor and dated in general . Lots of walking involved from parts of the hotel .poor changing rooms in leisure centre .broken lift for part of our stay . Average breakfeast ,no mushrooms was a big surprise!!

Good location along side a picturesque canal within ideal walking distance to a beautiful city centre. The staff was very helpfull and friendly ,and the food was very good especially the buffet breakfast it was reasonably priced as was the drinks from the hotel bar .

The room was along side the main duel carrage way with no real sound proof window. It kept my husband awake the both 2 nights we stayed ,which was a treat for his 50 th birthday . Also there was no air conditioning so room was extremely hot and stifling ,we could not open window very far but even what little it opened noise of traffic was even more annoying so couldn't keep it open all night. The little fan they supplied in the room had little effect.

Friendly staff, good facilities and bar was cheap for drinks

Rooms were far too hot but if you opened the window all you could hear was traffic. View off the rubbish bins and main road not exactly nice

The hotel is in a very convenient location to explore historic Chester. The canal side setting is lovely too. The hotel facilities, including the leisure complex, are excellent.

Lovely hotel spanning the canal. Good location - just on the edge of the city centre. Pleasant, helpful staff, a spacious room and a comfortable bed. We thought the noise from the nearby ring-road might be a nuisance but it was merely a background rumble overnight.

Breakfast was good but there could have been more choice (scrambled eggs as well as fried, for example) and the layout of the buffet needs re-thinking. There's not really enough space in the present alcove at busy times.

Reception and dining staff went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming Bed was very comfortable with crisp yet soft bedding. Lovely big, soft towels Superb gym, nice pool and excellent steam room Good free car park Free wi-fi that worked well

My room near a noisy flyover but fortunately not too much traffic at night.

The hotel site was good being near the centre of Chester. The staff were friendly and the meals good.

We had booked a club room for the weekend which was spacious though a bit tired. The worst thing was it was situated next to a busy dual carriageway with constant traffic even at 4am! With the window shut the noise was lowered but the room which had no air conditioning , was too hot to sleep despite using the portable fan provided which was noisy. So 3 nights of little or no sleep! The standard rooms seemed to face away from the road so were probably less noisy.

The location making walking into town centre very easy. Friendly and helpful staff. Cleanliness and although the hotel was very busy we did manage to park our car.

Being a suitable room for disabled it meant the sink was much lower which was a disadvantage but a minor thing and did not deter from the overall good points of this hotel.

Friendly down to earth staff in an excellently located hotel which is clean and tidy. The hotel has a pub style bar attached which makes it feel like your local and serves excellent beer and food.

A little let down when staff put the bill for |Mom in laws room under her door although I had requested it to be billed to myself but it didn't ruin our weekend

the dinners in the restaurant were excellent every time. The chef deserves big compliments.

the furniture in the rooms needed drawer storage space. A bit tight for a couple to put away clothes, especially if staying more than one night.

Loved being a 5 minute walk from the centre of Chester. Really enjoyed the facilities such as the swimming pool and the sauna. The lunch time river cruise with a 4 course lunch was very reasonable.

    Nothing to dislike.

I liked that there were spa facilities, it was close to the city centre. The room was big enough for the three of us.

There were no details about booking spa treatments in advance. The room was outdated and requires refurbishing, e.g. there was a large coffee stain on carpet, bumpy bed.
