New hotel in the area, very nice location and great views. The room is pretty small, developers probably wants to squeeze as many rooms per building as they can. On a plus side- AC worked, comfortable beds and super clean. Very friendly ladies at the check-in. It is only 10 min drive from Monemvasia. Overall good stay.

Location is great. It was easy to arrive to the hotel and the parking area is right in front. We got a sea view. We couldn’t see the island but still had a great view at sunrise. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We had breakfast included, which I wasn't aware of, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.

Monemvasia was wonderful.
Monemvasia was wonderful. The views were amazing as was the architecture. The Byzantino Hotel was great as were their recommended restaurants. The staff went out of their way to please and to help with directions on driving excursions in the area (Google Maps is out to lunch at times - this was pointed out by staff).
In our tour around Peloponnese we booked this Hotel for 1 day and we end up staying another day. ( wish we could stay longer but we will definitely recommend it and come back too ) ♥️
Hotel is located 2-3 min driving away from Monemvasia small village and 5 min driving to the Castle.
Don’t doubt on asking Alexandru for recommendations, his suggestions made our staying memorable.
Overall this location deserves 10+, quiet, clean!! Amazing view, better than pictures 🤍🩵
We had an amazing stay at this centrally located hotel in the castle (seconds away from all the shops and restaurants). The room had two windows with a great view of the main square and the sea. The owners were incredibly friendly, providing us with helpful insights and recommendations for activities in Monemvasia and the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, stunning views, and warm hospitality.
The apartment has one of the best locations in Monemvasia. High up on the hill you overlook the famous island and surrounding mountains. Its a 2 min walk into town and 10 minutes over to the island. The apartment is a real home, with everything you need to stay for a night or a couple of weeks! The apartment was one of the highlights of our visit to the Peloponnese with a view from the patio and roof that I will never forget.
This is a magical hotel! Located in the heart of the Byzantine walled town of Momnenvasia, it offered not only comfortable but exqisitely tasteful modern accomodations in an evocative historical style. Our stay was peaceful, aided by the views of the Aegean and gentle sound of the waves. It included the best hotel breakfast I've ever had in Greece. Lovely and helpful staff. We all hope to return!
Nice hotel on the edge of the small town, across the causeway from old town. The room was clean, water pressure and hot water good, breakfast buffet was good, the owners are friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and free, good dog walking along the beach with a fine view of the rock. We stayed here one night. We are full time travelers with a dog and a car.
If you do not want to stay on Monemvasia itself, this is a great place to stay. We had a perfect view of the island from our room, which was clean and comfortable. The staff at the hotel was helpful and the breakfast was good. It was easy to drive the two minutes over to the island, park, and walk the 20 minutes into the ancient town for dinner.
The location is 20minutes walk from monemvasia island and it was a nice walk, next to the sea. Beautiful view from the terrace. The room was very clean and has a small kitchen if you want to have breakfast inside. Supermarket in front of the hotel, bakery and restaurants in the nearby. Very kind host. Highly recommend!
The castle of Monemvasia is a magical place! The House in the Castle is a real gem, in great location and with amazing views! Our accommodation there was fantastic, the apartment was sparkling clean and very comfortable! The owner was super kind and helpful! Highly recommended, we will definitely visit again!
I cannot find the words to describe how wonderful our stay at Malvasia Traditional Hotel in Monemvasia was. Everything, and I do mean everything, was more than perfect. The Rooms are so tastefully built into these old houses. Every little detail fits. A very strong recomendation from our side!
Excellent location within the castle, close to everything (shops, restaurants, the beach, the historic section at the top of the hill). Spacious, clean and well equipped. If it's important to you, do inquire about the rooftop patio, as one is much larger and has a better view than the other.
Very good value for money. Having also stayed in a hotel in the Monemvasia village I will definitely say that Maviria was a much better value for money location, with good size room and nice view of the coastline. I liked the balcony with the see view. Also good parking space.
This is a fantastic family hotel !!! A really hidden place nearby Monemvasia... amazing view, nice pool, possible to swim directly in the sea, exceptional food and the service is great !!!!! Everyone should book this hotel, impossible to find a better place in this area.
- Location, right in the castle of Monemvasia. Everything of interest is within walking distance.
- Clean
- Nicely decorated and maintained in its old style
- Owners welcoming and friendly
Beautiful, clean, new hotel close to Monemvasia. Great views of the sea from most rooms and common areas. Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Ioulia at front desk.
Right in front of Monemvasia, very well located. A bit further and you end up carrying your luggage on your back, here you can park your car right next to the hotel
New, boutique hotel with friendly staff. We had an upgraded room with fantastic view at Monemvasia peninsula. Tasteful breakfast in the garden. Parking space.
Location and parking at the hotel (next to the room) instead of on the access road of Monemvasia and hauling the luggage up the road and into the kastro.
