We absolutely loved our stay. The room was comfortable, decorated perfectly, everything in working order, had everything we needed. The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk to the center of town and restaurants. We loved sitting out on the porch enjoying the view. The space allowed us privacy while still offering a chance to speak to your neighbors. The host was super helpful in familiarizing us with the area, with services and with recommendations. Definitely recommend!!!

The room was amazing , inspired by the white island houses. It was super clean and neat! Every day it was cleaned and every second we received clean sheets and towels.
The bed was comfortable and playful being it on top of the bathroom.
A nice touch of some croissants, sweets, juices served us great for the first day. We enjoyed our morning views on the balcony.
A great plus that it is perfectly located near the centre where you can find everything.
The host came to meet us to help us to the room. Super friendly and helpful.
Overall a great experience.
( Make sure to visit the family owned gift shop near the town hall )

Very spacious room, rustic style. Bathroom very modern. Owner Mr Yiannis was extremely hospitable and kind and so was his fluffy dog Marcos! The view from the room was amazing! Location very convenient. Very quite. Room was done every day. We had a great vacation and we would definitely come back.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly. I love Greek hospitality! The VILLA was opulent and too much villa for a solo traveller but indeed was little luxury I was willing to pay for. Beautifully designed with warm and welcoming interiors.
What I liked the most was waking up to first light and moving to the sun bed to complete my sleep watching the stars fade as the sun rose behind the mountain. Having a soak in the jacuzzi at the end of the day was also wonderful.
I was well fed at breakfast and had constant support / communcation with the host who willingly and very kindly guided me back to my villa at 10pm at night when I was a little lost! She also helped with booking of an island hopping day trip. Hassle free. Took the thinking out of my trip and I was in VERY good hands!

The view was incredible.
Froso, the owner, was outstanding 👏
Another cute Greek island. I have been to 15+ Greek islands over 50 times in total. It is similar to many other Greek islands. Small, cute. The castle and the old town looks really lovely. We went in mid-August. Although the island had probably around 5000 visitors, because there are few restaurants and options, all places were packed. Most of my Greek friends consider Astypalaia as the best Greek island, however in my view it's fine, cute, but I wouldn't say it's more beautiful than many other Greek islands.

The Chora looks great and picturesque, especially from distance. Nice walk to the castle and great to walk in the small narrow streets.
Very few shops with art, local products/local art, or galleries though in the small streets. Instead there are mostly restaurants.
Most shops/restaurants are set around the area of the windmills which although nice, do not have real view (although if you walk to the castle you get a breathtaking view, but not while seated).
Difficult to park in busy times

I've traveled to many islands in Greece.
I've traveled to many islands in Greece. Asytpalaia is the friendliest andprettiest of them all. The town beach is clean, the other beaches like jewels. Food is generally very good and fresh.
Everything is in walking distance, some steep steps involved but you can't have the hypnotic beauty and tranquility here without a little gentle pain.
The town and streets are spotless and the numerous cats cute and well looked after by the people.
Local grocers on the port have just about everything you need and if you can possibly tire of the food at Ageri in Hora or Astropolis in Livadi theres a great Pizza and pasta place right down on the port.

Not sure I want to encourage more people to visit, as this island of less than 2,000 inhabitants is indeed a hidden gem! We were charmed and delighted by this little island as a whole, and in Chora I was pleasantly surprised to find wonderful, chic boutiques, an abundance of phenomenal tavernas, exceptional restaurants (Akti, Cucina), well balanced cocktail bars and a lively atmosphere, as well as some of the best baclava I've ever. It's not for the faint of heart as there are a lot of stairs and hills to climb to get to the castle and the port.
The initiative to get the island fully electric is also commended, Astybus was a fantastic alternative to hiring a car and we used it almost every day - there are several pick up points in Chora, which makes it a great base to explore.
We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful town with houses set on the hill down from the castle to the port. Lots of little stairs and alleys to get lost in. Spectacular views and the flowers in June were lovely. Bars and restaurants up by the windmills and also down by the port. Plenty of shops.

beautiful chora with an imposing castle that you can visit.
beautiful chora with an imposing castle that you can visit. The beaches at Livadi and the port were lovely, but a steep walk downhill to both, or steep steps down to the port. The restaurants and bars around the windmills are excellent
This is a complete gem of a hotel. Full of character, charm and individuality, every detail combines to draw you into the enchantment of this most enchanting of islands. The endlessly varied breakfast menu exemplified the care and flair which make Greek home cooking so special. The hotel is owned and run by a warm and gracious family, who take evident pride in the special place they have created. They spared no effort to ensure that we go the most out of our stay, and left us determined to return at the earliest opportunity.
The nicest people and best service you can hope to come across during your vacation! If you're thinking about visiting the island (and you should!), Gerani Studios should be at the top of your list for accomodations.
The rooms and facilities are impeccable, tastefully decorated, and in a very convenient location, much better than you'd think for that price range. The restaurant next door is excellent as well.
We're definitely planning to stay there again in the future.
This studio was spacious and super clean! Room was cleaned everyday. I especially liked the balcony - it was big and had a great view. The best thing about this studio is the location. it’s only a few minutes from centre square and a short flight of stairs down to the ferry port. The host was lovely and picked me up from the ferry when I arrived so I didn’t have to go up the stairs with my bags. Highly recommend Gyrouli Studios, would definitely stay here again!
Everything was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to get it a flexible time. The view was wonderful. Our room was clean cosy and elegant. The location of the hotel is super convenient and yet calm. Barbara is wonderful and she helped us to take out the most of the island. The rest of the team is super professional, friendly and made us feel home. We can’t wait for coming back. Thanks to everyone!
The room was very clean, spacious enough for a couple and benefited from having amazing views over the Castle and the Chora. We loved the design which was in line with classic Cyclades/Aegean colours and slept well in the high quality mattress (Cocomat).
The hotel is family run and we both felt very welcomed by everyone. They were also kind enough to help us with our laundry for free!
Best location on island in my opinion for view and walking to restaurants, bus stop, etc. Best views are in the non studio rooms. Studio rooms are down below main level, still with a view but with a telephone pole and wires and a shared terrace. If coming for a view, get the non studio rooms. Breakfast was good and varied in choices, staff was nice..a lovely stay.
A true boutique experience, intimate, friendly, incredible views from top rooms, excellent breakfast and room servicing, spotless, classy. The wonderful Chrysoula is there for you every moment..she never forgets to do anything, has solutions to everything and is just a delight. The decor is lovely. Extremely satisfied
Clean, simple yet atmospheric apartment with an amazing view in the heart of the chora. Dmitris was a very generous host. The boat tours were all full while during our stay, so he gave a tour of the island to us for a very fair rate, driving us to all the best beaches and tavernas.
We just fell in love with every corner of the hotel! Our room number 14 was just magical! We enjoyed the breathtaking view while eating our breakfast which was so delicious! We enjoyed Astypalaia's castle view even from our bed!
We will definitely come back at Chrysalis Boutique
Beautiful location and lovely staff. The breakfast is really nice as well. We also ate dinner at the hotel and they make their own pasta and pizza (it was really good). We also used the spa facilities and had 2 different treatments, both were fantastic and I would recommend it.
Overlooks Livadi Bay with no obstructions. Beautiful at night with the moon over the bay. Five minutes from the windmills. Very safe area (the entire island is very safe). Kitchen and tues were helpful as was the washer. I stayed two weeks and felt comfortable.
The place is very beatiful that you can enjoy the island but you can also enjoy the silence
On top of all these Maria is an exceptional host. We travelled a lot but I never see a host as her
Thanks for everything.. for sure we will come again🥰
Great hosts,.smiling Maria, gentle.Nikos and polite Maroula.where just the best hosts for a.place.like this. I had the same feeling as when I invited my grandparents in my village in Crete. Hope too see them.again soon!
